Again, I agree. Commons and Izzy were a great partnership last season, but Commons hasnt done enough to get back in the side, and with another injury Im not sure he is going to get back in at the moment.

And Brown was a part of a good midfield last season as well. But same reasong as Commons, and also, the contract situation needs sorted.

Agree it's a good position to be in but I think he sees Scott Brown as his first choice captain and won't drop him when fit.

Ledley, despite playing all over the park is a more potent goalscoring threat. Has the ability in the air and to make late runs.

Ki has a good strike, which he doesnt make the most of.

Brilliant problem to have. I think while his value will still be pretty high, we should sell Ki in January. While I am a big fan of Scott Brown there is not a * chance he can be let back into this team with the rest of them playing so well. With Wanyama in midfield, it gives Kayal the freedom to bomb forward as well. My team when Izzy is fit:

    ----------------------Forster------------------
    Matthews-----Maj/Wilson-------Mulgrew----Izzy
    ------------Kayal---Wanyama---Ledley---------
    ---------------------Forrest-------------------
    ---------------Stokes--------Hooper------------

This would give us a very solid midfield giving plenty of protection to the defence and it would let Izzy and Matthews to bomb up and down the wings. Let Forrest do whatever he wants and perhaps rotate him with Kris Commons when he gets back to form as well. Forrest will be burned out by the end of the season if he has to play every game. McGeouch could play that role as well. What a * squad we have :icon_mrgreen:

At this moment in time I would say Victor Wanyama would be the man to make way for Izaguirre. Joe Ledley would go back into central midfield beside Beram Kayal.

Personally I'd rather see Samaras getting dropped and Joe Ledley being played in the left midfield spot with Kayal - Wanyama in the middle of midfield.

    Forster

    Matthews Rogne Mulgrew Izzy

    Forrest Wanyama Kayal Ledley

    Stokes Hooper
    Which would become...
    Forster

    Rogne Mulgrew
    Matthews_____Wanyama_______Izzy

    Kayal Ledley
    Forrest______________
    Stokes Hooper
When we are attacking, that's the same kind of thinking we had last year, except it was Commons on the left up supporting the strikers.

IF we get baba and juhasz my team would be:

    Forster
    Matty Mulgrew Juhasz Izzy
    Forrest Kayal Wanyama Ledley
    Stokes Baba

    Rotating between Hooper/Stokes/Baba

    Foster

Lustig(excited to see this boyo) Wilson Maj Izaguirre

Forrest Ledley Wanyama(this boy is impressive) Commons/Samaras

    Hooper Stokes

Tell you what though, that midfield is bursting with talent, with Brown, Kayal and Ki there. We still need a centre back badly!!!

Also with izaguirre at the back and this new fella coming in, I feel our defence will be greatly improved and much more solid.

Just one of those things in football - if you have a talented surplus in a particular position, someone's going to have to suffer.

I think it would be wrong to reshape the tactics to accomodate anyone. Probably the safest right now, assuming Izzy got quick fast is:

    RB CB CB Izzy

    Forrest Kayal Wanyama Ledley

    Stokes Hooper

The only gripe is that Ki is simply a better attacker / more creative than any of Kayal/Wanyama or Ledley. Once the defence is sorted out the onus will be on creation from midfield and I'm totally confident that Lennon sees Ki as the most important midfielder in that respect.

Wouldn't be surprised in fact to see Ki shoe-horned into left midfield - has played there a few times this season. Not by any means his best position but you know what Lennon's like.

The rough and tumble of the season will see injuries and rotation yet, so whoever misses out I'm sure it'll end up being down to injuries and suspensions, touch wood.

I would be inclined to keep Joe Ledley at left back now, he has impressed me greatly there.

I have a feeling Izzy will be sold in January

    Myth.
Forrest is one of the few players we have who can do it in the big games.

    Drop Izzy?!?

I think you have a short term memory mate!!!

Nobody will bid for him when he is only getting back from injury so we will have him until the summer at least.

Izaguirre at left-back and Matthews at right-back.

Ledley out left with Wanyama and Kayal for the games we really need to battle in the middle, Ki and Kayal when we're playing at home or expect to dominate. Ki can battle but Wanyama is better at that. When Ki and Kayal are playing CM, that also gives us the option of Wanyama at CB.

The midfield should always be the players on form.
