    most montenegrins are serbs though.

    what are those other groups?

    just because a majority declare independance, doesn't give them the right for independence. i mean if a majority group say in texas declared independance in favour of seccession..would the american govt say yes?

    un resolution of 1244 states that kosovo is under serbia's protection.

    self determination v territorial integrity. just because the majority want it doesn't give them the right to not respect the wishes of the minority.

    This has gone beyond "World Football" section.

    Actually, it was 55,3 % majority. It was 55% percent that was needed for Montenegro to became independent. Serbia didn't protest because of the twelve-century-long brotherly relations with Montenegro.

    I don't think you are familiar with the history of the Balkans, not to mention the very Kosovo situation. It would be nice to ask some of the Serbian members here about their stands and points of view before you post anything on the subject.

    Well said, many people in the west don't recognize the difference between Bosnia and Kosovo, Serbia and serbian militants did some pretty horrible things but it does seem the atrocities of the KLA get a free pass in the media leading many to automatically assume that if a region wants to split off from serbia it is right to do so.
    The UN and the European union also screwed things up when they decided to just start chopping up a map of the balkans to decide the borders

    i like your thinking.

    thing was 250,000 yugoslavs fled before the war, though as for the serbian govt itself didnt have any drawn up plans or documents endorsing crimes. irony was it was harder to join serbian paramilitary than it was to get into the federal army...

    too many roaming bands of scumbags calling themselves one faction or another and doing horrible things:54:
