    He has nine appearances for Chelsea and I don't know if any of them were starts, he is vastly overrated because of his nationality and imo will hang around the fringes of the first team for several years before leaving to play in the championship or for a lower level prem team. Even the most ardent Chelsea fan couldn't argue that he has broken through yet.

    we know we can't hold onto a talented player for long now, the way finances in football are! and to be honest i was amazed we held onto mcgeady for as long as we did, probably too long as the last couple of years he looked bored to me.

    but this * owed us at least a couple of years in the hoops

    but the writing was on the wall with all the carryon on his bebo page a year or 2 ago

    there always seemed to be tell tale stories about him

    I would be lying if i said i wish him all the best and being accepting of his circumstances, he can rot in chelsea's u19 team for the next 3 years and then go out of contract because that is what will happen, chelsea have an even worse record than we do of bringing through young talent.

    People could spin this into saying its ambition but frankly its a lack of ambition, a professional player wants to play first team football and he never will at chelsea.

    If he can prove me wrong then good luck to him, if he proves me wrong then he has a good work ethic and scotland will have a good player to call upon.

    Some of those comments are absolutely shocking. There's no doubt the guy's made a huge * up by moving to Chelsea but it disgusts me that a 16 year old can take that level of abuse off 'fans'. Does my * in when people post stuff like that on the internet, especially the last couple.
