Maybe I should rename this thread "the bitter and angry at ex-youth player" thread! :smiley-laughing002:

You'd think the guy had * on Tommy's grave and took a huge * on the Walfrid statue on his way out of the club with the way some on here are talking.

What a lot of people seem to fail to understand is that Burns did all he could to save the guy and his family from being deported because he had the makings of a really good footballer for the club that he was employed by.

It was, by and large, strictly business. Celtic were hoping he'd prove to be a tidy little player and provide them with a return, either on the park or via a transfer fee.

You'd also assume that we'd never snatched a prospect or turned a players head from another club before either.

    It's football, it's business.

I'm not overly bothered about him leaving Celtic, although I was furious at the time, it's the fact he has turned his back on Scotland is what has * me right off. Wee *.

He's played for Scotland at 5 different Youth levels, not too sure what his Country of birth has to do with him turning his back on the Country he has represented for over 6 years?

I don't think he's ever going to get good enough to represent Scotland at senior level. He hasn't got the attitude to succeed.

Well, people change as they get older. It could be anything really, he could have grown up and rekindled an interest or love for his home country? I've seen that happen with people who've moved to the UK at a reasonably young age.

They get older and start to look into where they came from, where their family live and so on.

It may not be the case with Feruz, of course, but it could be.

Regardless, I wouldn't hold it against him if he did decide not to play for Scotland, even if he was good enough.

He suddenly wants to play for Somalia? Do they even have a football team? Thought they'd be more in to water polio or something.

The case with Feruz is he's a * * and went in a huff because he didn't get a game.

Doubt it, he'll be trying to work his way in to the England set up because Scotland is now beneath him.

That's a possibility, although highly unlikely, as he's not even playing at the top level there. In fact, it could be said that Scotland is actually passing him by now due to his career stalling badly.

Why is it highly unlikely that he'd be trying to prepare himself for England with his attitude? Id say it was highly unlikely he wanted to play for his nation of birth

I'd imagine that the same agent who advised him to move to Chelsea would likely be telling him that the England squad is a very unlikely goal for him. He's what? 19 now? He's never played for them and can't even hold down a first team place at any club side, let alone Chelsea.

The competition for places in the England squad, whilst not world class, is far beyond what he can offer now. The ship has sailed if that was his intention. Like I said, the ship is virtually leaving the port as far as even Scotland is concerned now.

He reminds me of a miniature version of Balotelli, with one major difference, Balotelli has actually made quite a lot of money out of football, I wouldn't imagine Feruz has, or will. He will probably end up like a Derek Riordan type player, flitting from club to club.

Aye, look at Rickie Lambert. He was playing with Macclesfield in the 3rd division after having worked in a beetroot bottling plant at the age of 19.
