Another way to gauge it is when I was at School in Paisley it was about 75% 25% Celtic and St Mirren fans don't think there was a even one H&N in our whole school, I'd imagine the * schools were the same in the scums favour, yet now my grandson goes to a non-den School or (* in old money) and he say's there's as many Tim fans as Sevconians, there's no doubt they had the bigger fanbase years ago but they days have long gone..

I can't speak for Glasgow but in Scotland or Britain they have a bigger support.
Worldwide it is us by a country mile.

A lot of wee Englanders like Green And White will favour them..

London for example...for proper supports, we absolutely dwarf them in my opinion..

They had 1 pub in the city. Shut down now..

We've got plenty all over London..

I think it’s pretty much split in half in Glasgow.

    We are bigger world wide.

I've never seen a Rangers fan in my life. I do see the odd Celtic jersey here and there, which is incredible considering you barely see football jerseys around out here.

Said this before, but when Rod Stewart came to Calgary a few months back, the show was sold out and there were Hoops fans everywhere. Can't speak for Glasgow, but I can't imagine Rangers having a bigger worldwide fanbase compared to Celtic.

They don’t, it’s a fact. A director of the dead club admitted it in public.

We certainly have a much more visible presence in Scotland than them now: I see far more of our jerseys than theirs, and that seems to me to be true across the country (although I generally avoid places like East and North Ayrshire). Our support is growing and theirs is waning; there is no question about that.

I think parents with no affiliation to either club would rather their children support Celtic or a foreign club; I can’t remember the last time that I saw a kid having a kickabout in one of their jerseys.

Worldwide, our support far outstrips theirs.

In the city of Glasgow , comfortably Celtic. Huns come in their droves on coaches from towns 20-50 miles away ( Ayrshire etc ) .

You are sitting on the fence to achieve nothing but getting splinters in your cheeks. Last time Rangers could possibly compete and hold any bragging rights was when Advocatt was in charge. They were cheating and being held up by illegal bank transactions. We were running them scared all over. So much so they went into freefall and didn’t recover to the point their club folded. They quickly had to come up with a doppelgänger which was to be expected. But you can’t logically even think for a millisecond that they are on the same page as us. We are signing players for millions in cash whilst they are running circles around themselves to feed the media with fake news. I’m shocked that they even got Gerrard but I’m sitting waiting for the punch line in that. As for Glasgow support. It would be close but we would edge them out. The kids coming through that aren’t brainwashed will be backing the team that appears in the CL and the club that don’t go bust. They are hard to spot because they are very embarrassed by what has went on. So for me they aren’t even giving great backing or support for their new team. On 12th of July marches they will keep walking round the block so the front bands can join the back and start again. Make believe there are thousands of them.
All anyone really needs to know is Glasgow’s green And white.

60/40 to huns in scotland, we get more going to games cause we have a better concentration of fans in urban areas in central belt. I used to think we vastly outnumbered them over the whole of ireland, but personal experience make me think we don't have a massive following in the republic, while northern Irish still actively follow scottish football where their is more huns.

we have and always will have a bigger worldwide support, like in ireland it is probably over stated how much of the irish diaspora actually care about celtic, but I reckon theirs a couple dozen cities in north america and australsia where celtic to could relocate to and get about 5k season ticket holders straight off the bat in each one before gaining any new fans(pure hypothetical pish I know)

The difference between the Celtic fans and fans of other EPL teams in Ireland is that that Celtic fans are real fans and actively support their team. In Donegal there go a couple of buses to every home Celtic games whereas there go a couple of buses a year to Man U and Liverpool games.

I flew fro Dublin(heartland of the EPL fan boy) to Manchester for the away CL game in 2016. Their was about 1 City fan for every 5 Celtic fans whereas we had only 5% of the tickets. The biggest problem in Ireland is the media who for the most part ignore Celtic while constantly publicise the EPL and Liverpool and manure in particular.

I think so many more kids just want Messi and Ronaldo jerseys these days.

I went to school in Greenock and was only one of two Tims in my year, and he joined from a Catholic school after moving house or something.

High school similar as well, maybe only 4-5 Tims in the whole year, which is an extremely small %. Schools are always going to follow the Catholic (Celtic) Nondenominational (majority huns, in the West of Scotland anyway) trend.

Not sure what I would class Greenock. We have one of the biggest CSC's in the world there and had a club shop for years (huns didn't) , so I would lean to saying more Tims I think. But my upbringing of being surrounded by huns makes me naturally think there's more of them... School was a nightmare! :giggle1:

In Britain Celtic is larger. Celtic supporter clubs in every major city and other counties such as Essex, Staffordshire and Kent. I knew someone who dj'd for the Essex supporters at Christmas so wrote them a fact sheet so she could put up light chit chat. Numerous fan clubs in London.

I remember someone sending me a link to a story that stunk of irony...

By all accounts the biggest Oldco supporters club outside Scotland was in that Corby place in the Midlands, it was long established since the 50s and ran buses to every home game.

Incredibly it went bust and was shut down about a year before their team went the same way as well...couldn't make it up could you?
