You don't think Lennon is a legend? After all the trophies he won as a player, as a manager and the number of years he spent here and with all the * he went through to remain here.

    Hmmmm!:97:

*. Cutting away all the bullshit I really would like you to give me a detailed explanation as to why you think he doesn't deserve legend status.

By your reckoning Tommy Burns doesn't deserve it either, is that right?

The thug tag was a perfect example of clutching at straws. There are thousands of men in the stands and hundreds of professional players and managers who are just as competitive with just as much of a temper as Lennon has. It's * hypocritical for a lot of people to label him a thug. It's part of the bandwagon effect, groups of people want a scapegoat and Lennon became one for the huns. If he wasn't a catholic from N.Ireland he would have never received death threats or bullets in the post. It's deplorable to think that actually happened.

Lennon mixed it up when he had to but he was a top player and rarely had to. It is a myth that he was a hard tackling midfielder, he could do this yes but his game was more about use of the ball than defensive duties, although he was great at both.

No doubt about it. My favourite image is O Neil with his arm round him leading him to our support at Ibrokes.:50:

The abuse he took that day was sickening. Vile * pondlife hun *.

The fact that the media refused to report most of the 14 years of sectarian abuse against him was a disgrace as well.

    Definitely.

And there's this thing about him as a manager, it doesn't really make sense, but I think it's just how it is.

At Celtic, I feel like he could be a great football manager. Signing good players, playing good football, and winning. But I don't think he's going to go elsewhere and be a real success. I don't see him turning any minnows into brilliant teams, and for that reason he won't be offered any other big jobs.

But at Celtic, I could always see him being great. And I don't mean because of the lack of competition in Scottish football. Even in Europe, I could have seen him pulling off a miracle with us (maybe reaching the CL Last 16 with the budget of a Scottish team in 2013 was doing just that).

Hes maybe a Celtic Legend but hes 100% not a football legend in the same sense as Larsson,Dalgliesh and Jinky. They were world class players.

But hey if you want to water down the word thats fine ,i wont.
