It's your kid...you decide what they wear.
If a family member bought any of my weans a Rankers strip it would end up in a charity shop...there's no way i'd let them wear it.

Without hurting or upsetting anyone...just nail the situation on the head and let everybody know that you will not be putting any Celtic or Rankers strip on your kid until they're a bit older.
By that time dad will have influenced the wee barra:86:

Good to hear all the comments and that I am not on my own here.

I myself was influenced due to going to a catholic school in Scotland with all my friends being the same as me.

Although I don't have to worry about my kids being Rangers fans, I do feel that they are more than likely to come home one day and ask for a Liverpool strip or something to that effect.

It has just hit me that this is the start of it and I am going to be on a losing battle from here on in and the last thing I am going to want to start is a war of teams from whom my children are going to support.

I just hope my nice approach to the Celtic way hits home, failing that I think I will push them into supporting there local team, come on the Drogs.

I have three children, all of them adults now and all of them, I'm delighted to say, Celtic fans. My late father was a Celtic supporter as was his father before him and I sincerely hope that if I'm lucky enough to have grandchildren, they will also support the "Hoops". [My daughter's partner is a bluenose so there might need to be some extra missionary work done if the occasion arrives:icon_mrgreen:]
I was both delighted and proud when my kids started coming to the games with me and my two sons still come with me and will next season.

Is this wrong? Absolutely not! Indeed, I see it as the duty of every Celtic supporter to ensure that the tradition is carried on:celt_2:

You're the Dad, you have more of a say.

Who did you support before?

I grew up in a reallllllyyyy protestant area, however both sides of my family are catholic. All the kids I played football with or went to school with here huns. My mum hates football, but my dad made sure that I was fully aware of my 'history' as it were.

I am grateful because imagine being a hun, fecking *.

If I were to ever have kids, though I doubt i will, then I would be gutted if they did not support Celtic.

My dad influenced me when I was younger to support Celtic and I'm glad he did. My son is 2 and got his first strip a month or two back. I only ever put it on him to run about in the house or play in the garden though, no for any particular reason, I just wouldnt take him out in it.

my dad influenced me a lot when i was growing up.i went to a school full of huns & all my mates were huns & this was during the 9 in a row years i took a lot of stick back then.now that im grown up & know the history im glad my dad brought me up a tim i wouldnt have it any other way.anyway i personally think the rangers colours are horrible who in there right mind would want there kid to wear a horrible rangers top over a nice celtic top.

i think it's a good idea to inspire the genration next to suport the same club by taking them with you to attend the games or showing them the moments of glory to let them get used to the club otherwise they may began supporting the club you hate due to influence of friends for examle who spend with your kids more time than you can afford youself due to work and ie

my dad never forced anything on me,never had me christened despite being catholic himself,or made me choose a football team despite being a celtic supporter and from a celtic supporting family.but as a kid i just wanted to be like him, suppose thats the case with most kids and their fathers.and as for being influenced by friends and schoolmates etc,i went to a non-denom school and loved the fact i supported a different team from most of my classmates

They will follow in your foot steps, the problem i had is that my lad's mates are all Newcastle fans, alot of his mates are season tickets holders at St James's
and now with them going in to the EPL and how * we were last season he was caught in two minds about about where he wanted to be, what i mean is he wanted to be a both grounds if you know what i mean.

he has a paper round and for the first time he offered to buy his ST on his own,and gave him the choice, he made the right choice and does not want to miss out coming up to the promised land for another season.

if i pop my cloggs, i want him to carry on traveling up the road that will be my wish :50:
