Half the mistakes people see didn't actually happen. Folk are queuing up to have a whinge at certain players relentlessly. People are going out their way to make an issue over nothing.

I sometimes think that half the supporters are watching different games than the rest of us.

There's no doubt that a lot of the players have underperformed for the last couple of years. Delia was getting the blame, but at the same time the support of the team has gone fragile.

I read the excuses that they earn £xxxxx per week so they should be able to take it. I don't care how much you earn if you've constantly got people on their back all the time it's not going to do you any good.

How many games of football have you been to when the nervousness, tension and attitude from the stands passes on to the team and vice versa?

Don't understand all the 'no's. If you go to the theatre and see an actor falling about the stage blootered and messing up his lines, you're going to boo. Where there's been a certain level of incompetence, it's perfectly acceptable to boo that when you've paid money to see it.

That's true, and some people are far too quick to boo or to do players down, but after a while there comes a point where it's acceptable to voice at least some displeasure.

I disagree. When you go to a theater or a concert or a comedy show, you pay money to see a show, to be entertained.

You go to a football match, as a supporter of a team, to support the team.
Yes, it's nice to be entertained but getting behind the team and giving them your support is more important than our sense of entitlement to be entertained.
If you go to your son's football game, you go there to support him, you don't start booing him and giving him dog's abuse for making a mistake. Why would it be different when you go to see the team you love?

*, if I only watched Celtic to be entertained, I'd have taken up golf long ago.

No one's saying we only go to be entertained, but primarily aye, supporting Celtic is a past-time. Yes, there's an emotional connection to the club that sees me support them even when I feel far from entertained, but if they're not performing up to scratch - and not improving over a significant period of time - I can understand booing. If you're going to applaud mediocrity, where's the accountability and support in that?

Also, there's no way going to see a relative play compares to seeing Celtic. These are professionals, with professional standards rightly expected of them.

I know going to see your relative play isn't comparable to watching Celtic, I just used that to emphasize the point that the primary reason you go to either game is to support your team/players.

I don't think singling any one player out for boos and personal abuse is justified though. And it's definitely not going to make anything better. Especially when a player is trying their best.
It's not like Ambrose, for example, just strolls out on the pitch thinking "* this club I'd rather be somewhere else", or "I'm just here for the money", or anything.
He dedicates his life for Celtic and works his bollox off in training by all accounts. Just because he makes a few mistakes or is not quite as good as the fans expect him to be, I don't think it's fair to single him out for abuse.

Never should be heard booing one of our own and if it was any other player it wouldn't have been. But as it's efe the social media hype concerning he's ability to defend has been blown out of all proportion as usual and his paying the price for that.:54:

Only if they have a bad attitude towards the club, Liam Miller was booed if I remember correctly.

I wouldn't because everyone has an off day. I'd maybe boo if the whole team was a shambles though.

For a prolonged lack of effort yes, for making mistakes like Efe does then no as it achieves square root of * all.

Have a read back at some of the threads when games are live. Folk dive in with both feet with every single mistake they think they see. Half the time the mistakes were trivial, such as losing the ball in a tackle or a misplaced pass in the other half, or calling out a player for being caught out of position.

No player goes through 90 minutes without giving the ball away and half the time the player called out for being at fault wasn't the guy that was responsible for the cover. A lot of the biggest whingers on here and the ones who can't read a game of football.

It's not often I'll log in here during a game if I'm not at the game, but I did during the game against Astana last week.

Even Griffiths was ripped to bits and written off as useless. 40 goals in a season to useless in two misplaced passes. It's just unbelievable how quickly people turn on players.

Scott Brown has probably been our best player so far this season, looking much fitter and sharper, yet there's a queue of folk trying to find fault.

It's very unpleasant, undeserved and just shows how fickle many people are when they would much rather have a go at players than cheer them on. That's not supporting the team.

Half the people that are the most vocal about the team going backwards appear to be the people who sit in their house watching on dodgy Internet sites and contribute nothing to the club in any way, shape or form.

I honestly have no idea how many of the whingers think their conduct is acceptable or going to achieve anything constructive. As far as I see it has the opposite effect.

I agree with most of this, but I wouldn't say Brown has been our best player so far. In the little games we have played, Roberts has been our best I think, if we are talking about competitive games.

If they've terrible attitude maybe, if they're just having a poor game no, you'd have to be a * of the highest order with ridiculous self-entitlement to boo a player just because he's having a bad game.
