If the player is useless its default a lot in the support start defending him, embarrassing.

As opposed to embarrassing for booing your own players.

I would never boo someone for giving their best, even if their best ultimately isn't good enough.

Would it be acceptable to boo the team off the park after a poor performance ?

Nobody is saying he should be immune from it. We are saying that nobody should be booed as long as they are playing for us.

That'll be a right * confidence booster, getting booed by your own fans.

Of course fans should be allowed to voice their opinions via booing or cheering for that matter. These guys are professionals, I see the point if it was years ago when guys from the area played for pride instead of paychecks. If they are being booed by their own fans is because their performance has been shocking, woeful and way below standard. Either they have had a one off howler or they aren't good enough, in which case they need to go to a team or league more suited to their level. This isn't a charity and people don't spend their hard earned money to build the self esteem for poor players, either they're good enough or they aren't can't stand the heat get out the kitchen. So yes I think fans are entitled to voice their displeasure just as equally as cheering. These players don't need fans being their white knight and protecting them, come on they are professionals

I wouldn't in isolated circumstances, i don't really boo anyway. I can understand it if it was a consistent theme of below par performances and players looking like they didn't give a *.

But that is as a collective, football is a team game.

I think that's very different. As a team, yes I think it's acceptable for the supporters to boo them off. But individuals? No chance.

No players should be having a go if someone makes a mistake in that case.

So you think it's acceptable to boo the team, but not an individual player?

What about the poor individual player(s) who actually played alright, or at least tried? Are they to be the victims of your booing? But not one single individual who was * and never tried?

I'd never lower myself to booing any Celtic player, nor Celtic team in my entire life. No chance.

You win as a team you lose as a team therefore if booing was ever acceptable its to do it at the team as a collective not at individual players.

That being said, im not one for booing in any scenario but it doesn't mean i can't understand why others do it.

It's sad when we are at the start of the Brendan Rodgers era, that Celtic fans stand polarised, paralysed and divided over one player in their ranks.

Good management and decisiveness would never have let this intolerable situation arise.Other clubs are watching agape with amazement at us, continuing to play someone who is detrimental to the club's and fan's best interests.

Booing Ambrose ? Awww the wee soul. We're got to protect his wee feelings .

The team as a whole package deserve booing when they as a collective put in no effort at all. Like the Huns game and Red imps. Do not single one guy for criticism. I was never good enough to play in the hoops. But if I was brought to the club and chosen to play I'd be over the moon. I would give 120% but I wouldn't be up to standard. Hardly my own fault. Would cut like a knife to know my fans singled me out.:38:

A player on his own, no. A bad team performance then, yes.

Just wanted to throw that question out there, i agree with what's being said regarding the singling out an individual, not exactly gonna do their confidence any good.
