I quite like it sometimes.I can watch the end of a 20/20 or limited overs game, and i do occasionally watch an Ashes match;what i really hate though is the way the English media go over the top about it.I mean ok, they hadnt won the Ashes in 20 years, but ffs...its a 2 horse race....and yet they were in Downing Street and getting gongs etc and having an open top bus.Unbelievable!A 2 HORSE RACE!!!!They should have just bowed their heads and apologised to their fans for taking so long to win it back.Cringe cringe cringe.

There's not that many teams that the English cricket squad play. Bet thur chomping at the bit for more countries to join in so that they can claim "It's 1966 all over again" anytime they win a tournament.

cricket is reaosnably popular in south Wales to be fair, lots of clubs, its more of a social thing once again tho, a reason to spend 6hrs under the sun drinking. not huge crowd, we're talkin low hundreds if even that but its not a dead sport. nothing near Rugby though, rugby * everything down here.

    anyway...

the reason most Welsh football fans are against Team GB is thus...

The England Cricket Team is actuallly The England and Wales Cricket Team
The England Cricket Board is actually the England and Wales Cricket Board.

The Team is called England...the Board is called the ECB not EWCB. The flag is St Georges. The badge is 3 Lions.

In recent memory two good England players have been Simon Jones and Geraint Jones as well as Robert Croft. 3 Welshman who reached the pinnacle of their sport and represented their country...except it is publically and commercially referred to as England.

WELL THEY CAN GO * THEMSELVES.

A team GB would eventually mold into England, with English logos, team, identity. Just like has been done with Cricket. And what they have attempted to do wit the British and Irish lions rugby team especially the 2005 team.

Yeh but then you had a Cricket team created.

Wales does have a team but it's considered a Minor county and plays in the tier below the county championship with other mickey mouse teams. We did beat England in a special One dayer in 2004 tho.

It is a joke though...look at Eoin Morgan playing for England despite playing for Ireland as well. pathetic. I dont care if England are betteer than Ireland, its tough luck Eoin mate, your Irish. id want to play football for Argentina but i cant.

If you ever read a British tabloid, the sport stars at the top of thier game (Irish, Scottish or Welsh) are called British. If they're English, they're noted as English. Read a Scottish tabloid and any sport star who has a Granny that once knew a guy that was Scottish is considered Scottish.

Regardless of this...cricket must be the one of the dullest sports of all time. I've watched mare exciting games of rounders in my time.

Aye, when I was in school we were told to play cricket and our whole class refused to go outside because no one liked it... We got to play rounders instead which is actually a really fun sport to play.
