Freedom of speech is a great thing. Without it there would have been no RangersTaxCase and no Phil Mac.

Let him rant on, if this hadnt been highlighted on here no-one would have a clue who or what he was crackin on about.

Could care less what this waste of space says. His article as others have said is full of inaccurate statements and really he is just being contrary to try and justify his job and sell papers. I don't know I would call the Irish Independant west brit though. The Irish Independant has traditionally been a big business tabloid pretending to be an actual newspaper.

I know mate, I could go on for hours about it. Also these Irish journos should be looking closer to home at some of their League of Ireland fans, Same of the stuff that goes on at league of Ireland is far worse than what happens at Celtic Park.

Derry City fans were belting out "boys of the old brigade" the other night against Linfield, is this what this * head regards as sectarian chanting????

Why are foreigners writing about our club in relation to a situation we have NOTHING to do with ?

Yeah, because Irish Celtic fans have nothing to do with the club(nor did Irish people have anything to do with its founding or current funding)

I would imagine he is of the same sort that get apopletic when Celtic fans wave a tricolour or sing a song about their heritage

Sounds a wee bit like a unionist reaction to Dublin papers writing about a 6 county GAA team.

Maybe you would like to confine support and interest to Scotland or maybe Glasgow only.

We don`t care what the animals say

Just another West Brit with a chip on his shoulder about any Irish person supporting Celtic. You`re almost guarenteed that this * supports Man United. But, unfortanutely, this is an attitude that is becoming more prevalent in the 26

No surprise to anyone in the know.

Anyone not in the know, pay attention...

About 100 years ago a few brave men gave their lives for freedom in Ireland.
The English did exactly the same thing they did in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya
do a deal with a few traitors then arm them with tanks and guns. Civil war follows then "divide and conqer"
and none of this is possible without control of the media-before-during-after and ever since.
RTE = BBC (TG4 is the only station which won't give you a sore stomach)
Irish press= English press (Only the Irish News keeps it real)
Don't even mention the radio stations! I dare you to listen RTE radio 1.
Any Irish nationalism or anything associated in any way no matter how small has excrement smeared all over it! And this goes on everyday! plus Celtic gets a touch every now and then, vile animals that we are:rolleyes:.
A few years ago: two counties from the north had their football final in Dublin to show that Dublin was their true capital. The next day, all the press in Dublin had the same headline: GAA Scum! including any bad stories they could find about the game (on the front pages not back pages).
So don't ever get upset about this type of rhetoric coming from the western brit press or stories about the lack of support for Celtic in Ireland.

We are decent people who support our team from ALL OVER the world and if anyone is foolish enough to believe other wise then that's their problem!

Listen lets be honest the parts about up the ra etc have no place in football and bring shame on our club whatever opinion of the ira at anytime must be tempered with the atrocities they commited in later times so to cheer for them is sad for me and its funny to read someone from outside looking in and ther4e are sections of fans who arent much better than them although id say honestly the percentages would be far less than most people will think

First of all, full stops are your friend.

Secondly, I don't think it brings shame on our club, the fact we are welcomed the world over would refute that statement. Also there are no sections of our fans that are like them, there may be one or two like the balloon who racially abused Diouf but they are a very very small minority.

I would say to this guy, whoever he is, what I have said to other Irishmen I have met who don't support Celtic, and have a similar view.

Why don't you come to Glasgow and live/work here for a few months and see what it's like for yourself?

You will see how subtle the sectarianism and anti Catholic/Irish/Celtic attitude can be by many intelligent, seemingly reasonable people, of all professions and trades.

You will meet intelligent, successful people who will judge you by your accent alone, and consider you to be an Irish Catholic and therefore anti British and the enemy. Even if you are a Protestant and I know, of course, there are many Southern Irish Protestants, or whatever, and even if you have no interest in football, to them, you are a *! A Taig, Pape and beneath them. Even if you are rich and famous, they believe they are better than you!
Celtic fans have been treated in the same way.

This is a poor article by an ignorant man.

Don't give him any more publicity.

What are you talking about ? I'm asking how a guy who doesn't even live in our country and probably knows nothing about our team can start making judgements about our fans as if he is well in the know.

I don't have a clue what you are on about. I'm talking about the writer of the article who is clearly not a Celtic fan.
