    the CELTIC fOOtball club! :)

I agree with above. Scotland flags, kilts etc. at European games. Doesn't make us less Scottish not having them in the SCOTTISH Premier League.

Shame there are arseholes in the Celtic support that will try and fight you, or your smaller pal to be more accurate, for wearing a kilt.

i don't see why flying a flag should be such a problem, fans pay their money so as long as it's not offensive or politically attatched to something i dont see the issue, as an english celtic fan i'd love to bring my st georges cross (with a celtic and aston villa badge on it) but obviously it's quiet a sore issue with a fair amount of celtic fans so thats no-go, which is understandable to a certain degree, but flying the tri flag shouldnt be an issue at all, it's not offensive at all. we just support a club with strong irish links.

I personally would have no problem with someone bring an England flag to Celtic Park, you have as much right to do so as anyone with a tri-colour or any other flag. Its your country so why not?! :50:

I actually quite like the England national team,I just wouldn't think the flag would go down well at all because you'd see that same flag being flown by the huns,it breaks the colour and because of some peoples resentment to England/Britain.

    This * still going?

    Scottish club, Irish roots.

Bring a Saltire & Tri-Colour just like they both sit on the North stand.

    Case closed.

Effing huns attaching their bigotry to my country haha,

politically i can see why many people hate the british(english) government and media, so do i :icon_mrgreen:, but us english people are a good bunch (most of us anyway), maybe their will be a day when you can fly ANY flag you want at football but for now i'll just stick with the hoops on my shirt.

I think an England flag with green cross instead of red would be good. Maybe with Hooper's name on the front :50:

Nah, would do a green background and a white cross. I'm colour blind and can't tell the difference between red and green from a distance! It would confuse the * out of me.

    I'm not picky.
I would like to see more Scotland flags to be honest BUT in the end it doesn't phase me one bit at all. I'm Scottish but I'm proud as * to support Celtic and I personally love seeing the green, white & gold colours as well as any of the Scottish colours at matches. Just a sea of colour and to me it's amazing to see.

The bottom line is Celtic was founded by Irish FOR Irish immigrants so they may be "based" in Scotland so to say but the history & roots of the team is Irish and at least the fans show their colours whether they are Irish or Scots. We wave Irish flags and Scotland flags because of where we come from. That lot over the city ARE from Scotland AND are (supposed to be) Scottish yet how many Scotland flags do you see that lot waving? All they seem to fly is the Northern Ireland flag, English flag & Union Jack.

My ex brother-in-law once quoated that he is "Rangers who are Scottish and proud!" I simply responded by saying "Then why the * do you wave English flags, Union Jacks and sing a song about a * Dutchman?" No answer from him there on that one but to me that sums it up.

Celtic wave Irish/Scottish flags because that's where they are from and where their roots are but yet they don't seem to KNOW their roots because they wave every other * flag appart FROM the Scottish one. AND since when would you EVER hear a team that is supposed to be from Scotland sing the national anthem of England??? Never is when.

Let the vivid colour - whether it be green, gold & white and blue & white - atmosphere, noise and thunder long, long, long continue in my eyes.

I wish people would stop trying to claim our club for their own country.

Celtic is NOT an Irish club.
Celtic is NOT a Scottish club.

Celtic is a Scottish club with a proud Irish heritage. It was formed, in part, to bridge the divide between Scots and Irish and give the two groups something to unite behind and support.

Let's just all be happy with the fact that it's OUR club. :celt_2:
