I used to think like this as well.... however we should never underestimate the power of ignorance/stupidity.

For every one nutcase I know 50 grand people, I think Britain has it a bit different to here due to the massive population & all the old baggage, whats encouraging is that the far right parties here, National party & the freedom party (I think) have no elected representatives & its more or less guaranteed that Sinn Féin will get in next election, I'd love to see them go in with the Social Democrats but think candidate wise wont be enough, both left parties

This is demonstrably untrue. They weren’t welcome in the US, Scotland, England or anywhere else they went to en masse.

The Irish were forced from their homes due to famine and war. Why that means they should expect to host hundreds of thousands of migrants in their homeland is baffling. A nonsense argument.

I would say we are going to see a general election next Autumn so we will find out whats next soon enough. I have to say I am unconvinced about Sinn Féin personally. We have massive big picture issues to resolve. The health system, housing and the entire energy grid and its conversion to renewables. FFG have utterly failed in this regard so maybe it is time to give Sinn Féin a chance but I am not convinced by them and their ability to fix these big issues.
They will win the biggest share and number of seats barring something very surprising and then it will be a case of can they get enough seats via a coalition partner or 2 to form a government. I would like to think and would love to see Sinn Féin get in and do a great job and there is of course only one way to find out if they are up to the task.

Yeah I have to agree with this post..although as a lifelong socialist who's never voted Tory and voted Corbyn..I guess I'm now rightwing and part of the Irish Far Right as everything is far right now..

Regrettably, my friends and followers, it appears that Ireland is headed towards an authoritative regime. We're being dictated to by politicians who dictate what we can and cannot do, say, and even think. Politicians are jeopardising our major agricultural exports with their radical climate policies. Today, they go so far as to claim that if we don't alter our eating and clothing habits, half of Ireland will be underwater in 30 years—a blatant display of climate alarmism.

The Taoiseach and his minister support a Justice Minister whom the public lacks faith in. Some even label those critical of her as far-right and anti-women. Our virtue signalling immigration policy has been abandoned in favour of impressing the EU with a reckless free-for-all approach. People are pouring into the country without proper vetting from all over the world and nearly 100 thousand Ukrainians arrived without undergoing any screening by the governments own admission.

Individuals cross our borders without identification or passports, yet they are accepted for asylum applications instead of being deported. Even when deportation orders are issued, they aren't enforced, leaving them in the country.
The lack of housing for hardworking, tax-paying citizens persists, while the population increases rapidly due to immigration.

Hate speech laws are looming, threatening to silence anyone who disagrees with the government's policies. Despite an official poll showing that 76% of the population disagrees with the government's policies, they remain unresponsive, continuing to destroy the country and compounding the already chaotic housing crises.

Peaceful protests are dismissed and criticised by the government and the minister for justice, branding concerned citizens as the rejects of society and right-wing extremists. The opposition party, Sinn Fein, remains largely silent or in agreement with the government. The few politicians and senators who do speak up for the people are ignored and vilified.

Soon, everyone may be subject to the same hate speech laws that silence opposition. It's evident that a change is needed. An election is necessary, and people should refrain from voting for the major parties, instead opting for independent candidates. The political parties have ceased to listen, and the current government is arguably the worst in history, evidenced by the growing unrest, increased street crime, lack of policing, the deterioration of agriculture based on climate alarmism and the erosion of democracy and free speech. They all must go, as they seem to have lost touch with reality and believe they are above the concerns of the people.

This comment summed up this Irish politician well

She’s the epitome of mediocrity, she can’t articulate her point, it’s quite obvious this dolt did not write or probably even read her own bill.

Supporting them or highlighting what's actually happening in Ireland that you won't see on the media!

You do know you don't have to agree with someone's politics to agree with some of things what they are doing. Even an example of this is loyalists agreeing with a d having huge respect for the IRA and especially the hunger strikers!

What's going on in Ireland, UK and the world today I know life long republicans who are agreeing with Tommy on some issues and also say that him being deplatformed, silenced and even jailed is totally wrong! Just like they tried to silence republicans for years! They can see through what's actually happening which is Europe is getting overrun with young black unvetted Muslims and anyone who calls it out is called a right wing racist fascist! I even know personally a Republican who's called it out who spent most of his young life in the H-Blocks and he just laughs his balls off at the clowns labeling him right wing racist!

Here's a documentary on what's happening in Ireland at a frightening pace. I'll get the popcorn for the replies from some of the clowns on here wholl attack tommy and even myself for calling it out rather than actually listen to the people on the ground whos being censored!

    Enjoy!
