The'Offended Brigade' is a great name. Maybe they could show up at games and moan every weekThen come on here and act all high and mighty because they don't partake in those big wcary IRA songs.

    Exactly.

If you have a problem with the hardcore of the Celtic support come to games and tell us to stop. Self police.

We supported the irish Republican movement during the darkest days of the war. We stood shoulder to shoulder on the jungle's hallowed terrace and sang songs of war and of freedom.

We were not ashamed then, and sure as * we should not be ashamed now! After all the IRA are now the governing party in the occupied 6 counties ( whether we like it or not ) . A former IRA Chief of Staff is campaigning to become the president of the 26 counties as I write.

Why are these people offended? I really dont get it....seriously. I can see the point if you were all huns, but not celtic fans.

What next? Poppies sold up and down the stadium, Brits marching up and down the park? Where will we end up without the Celtic fans who continue to uphold our true spirit.

    Never ever give up.

The fact that IRA songs do embarrass / offend a fair number of our fans (and a fair proportion of the general public) should be reason enough for those that sing them to observe a little more sensitivity to the matter!

Just because 'you can' does not always mean 'you should'!

Part of supporting a football club is the brotherhood... tell me where the brotherhood is from those who just give it the big '* you - we'll sing what we want'!?

Most folk equate the term 'IRA' with the modern IRA... a shower of murderous mobsters who were more interested in organised crime than political matters! And I would also say that most Celtic fans spit out the 'IRA' sections of the songs with the soul purpose of * protestants / nationalists off! Get a * life!

    What a load of nonsense.

I'm a prod, well was christened as one as a baby anyway, and I sing the rebel songs week in week out.

Religion doesn't even come into my mind when I'm belting out the tunes! :celt_2:

No problem at all with the song. Any Celtic fan who would not sing it is just as ignorant as the "offended ones".

Remember the Tones singing it at the barra's years ago.
