The Celtic Song so long as Dean Park doesn't sing it.
I remember the Hunger Strike and even bought the An Phoblacht to keep up with events. It was the indestructible object (IRA) Versus the Immovable object (she who cannot be named). Some Mothers Son was a belter of a film covering this too.

Some Mother's Son was a great film, some parts not accurate, but good film nonetheless.

H3, the film released on the 20th anniversary in 2001, was also a very good film, as far as I remember. I only ever saw it in the cinema when it came out that year. It never seemed to be released on dvd, convieniently, even the IFC as it was called at the time couldn't get it!! As I remember it was more powerful than 'Some Mother's Son'... Here's a link to it on the internet I found recently but haven't got to watch yet:

Let me know what yis think.

This looks like an amazing film, so good in fact that it threatens to make Some Mothers Son look like a slapstick comedy. I'll prob have to watch it on my own because I'll prob cry and/or want to knock the living * out of some Hun.

I remember reading 'The Shankill Butchers' (a horrifyingly sickening, but essential read) and feeling a sense of pride that the loyalist prisoners at the time couldn't get their heads round the Blanket Men, and viewed them with a mixture of respect and fear.

Has this film been released yet? It was shown at the Cannes film festival but I havent heard anything about it since. The trailers on Youtube look good.

According to Wikipedia, it's going to be broadcast on Channel 4 towards the end of the year, so I'm guessing it will only get a limited cinema release at best
