    Alright Bhoys!

Just a quick hello. Not going to bull * anyone on here. Celtic have always been my "2nd team" but over the last few years i find myself more and more turning and this season im dedicating to the Bhoys.

Probs got the same background as most on here, Irish father and mother, catholic ect. I live in england, iv only seen Celtic play once, that was at Old Trafford in 2008. Im a former Man Utd season ticket holder, i dont support the english national side, i class myself as Irish. I like to think im a bit of a laff, and like i just said, im basicly a new celtic fan compared to millions who have followed the team from birth. ive always had a celtic top since i was a kid but this year im supporting the team properly.

    Thanks guys

    Hail Hail
    Hi everyone,
I’ve been a Celtic supporter since I was twelve over here on the over side of the world in Melbourne Australia. I actually learnt of Celtic from a very early Taggart episode, my Father explained to me about the Old Firm being depicted on a episode when Taggart was even alive. He also told me his deceased father (a sportswriters) liking for Celtic due to his Irish Australian Heritage.

Celtic really appealed to me instantly as a club for the reason that they had a kit I loved and also my Australian Rules side wear Navy and White Hoops and like Celtic resist heavily on changes to their uniform. In Australia at that time football was the third most followed winter sport behind the dominant Australian Rules and the two codes of Rugby. Football was mainly followed and played by the kids from the more recently arrived continental ethnic groups such as the large vibrant Greek, Italian and Croatian communities. I loved playing Football for my school and finding Celtic gave me club I felt connected to like the large amounts of Italian kids in my team did to Juve, Inter and Milan.

In the early days (circa 1995) I would be over the moon to see the highlights of a Celtic Old Firm goal on a two football highlight show attempting to cover the entire international football world. Since then the growth of Pay TV, EPL and the Australian International side’s vast improvements have seen football explode over here. I have also been lucky to see Australians recruited to Celtic (Who even if they did not put in the greatest performances) meant the club got some airtime on the news. Slowly the cost of watching games has thus became cheaper at pubs. Whilst the surprisingly large Celtic Supporter Clubs have always been welcoming of the Aussie guy in the Hoops shirt.

Anyway glad to join your site from Down Under
