I don't think Rodgers has anything to learn from Clarke.

The difference is that Rodgers is not managing his team game to game trying to get every point.

He is managing his team with the whole season in mind, and future seasons as well. That is why more players have to feature in the rotation. Bigger squad, bigger problems - but also more capabilities.

If Rodgers was in Clarke's job he'd have set the stall out the same way. If Clarke was in Rodgers he would have an injury list worthy of the NHS.

    I said in Europe though.

The way Killie set up today is how I'd like us to play against bigger sides in Europe. It's pragmatic yet not completely park the bus.

Notice how they kept their shape forced us out wide to cross it, doubled up on our best players, yet were still able to counter effectively AND press us when required.

We should be looking to do something similar on the continent.

I'm not saying he goes and has a one to one sit down with Steve clarke. No. But we should look to create some sort of style for Europe that doesn't leave us horribly exposed.

It’s * me off big time as well. Makes things a * of a lot easier when we win the ball back sooner and further up the pitch.

At the moment our pressing isn’t great so as a result we are having to try and build attacks from the back which isn’t happening to great effect with how slow and predictable we have been for most of this season.

Until all these issues are sorted soon more and more teams we come up against are just going to copy Killie and put 10 men behind the ball which will probably result in us dropping more points. But I trust Brendan will get us back to our best soon.

Fair play to Steve Clarke though. Despite them playing really defensive and narrow they still offer a threat going forward. They could have easily scored at least 3 or 4 today if they were more clinical.

We've beaten Aberdeen twice this season, yet we're only 8 points ahead of them. Mad.

Can't argue with that, we've been consistently inconsistent.

For me it is the injuries. We've not been able to play the same defence for more than a couple of weeks at a time. Add to that the injuries to the two players that regularly dug us out of holes last season when we were playing badly, Paddy and Rogic, who made goals out of nothing, and it's not hard to see why we are struggling at times. The 2 injuries today threw out our game plan and left Brendan very limited options, which one of the best managers in the league was able to exploit.

Once (if) we get everyone back fit I think there will be a marked difference.

There is a problem with injuries to the team and we haven't had a settled team for a while but there also seems to be a lack of fight about the team in some games

A mixture of injuries, loss of form to individuals and poor signings have lead to lots of poor performances.

Lack of creativity in the final third, almost all attributed to the long term losses of Paddy and Rogic.

Musonda will add to that eventually.

The pressing in the first half against Hearts is what I would like to see every week. Thought we might get it again today as it showed how good we are when doing it, but we stood off with slow build up and simple passes going astray. I can understand the playing along the back to make the other team come out, but Killie stayed in tight until we got in their final third where we had little movement and lost the ball. Frustrating performance

    Injuries .Simple as that.
    Craig Gordon , out.
The CB fiasco - most of them injured all season !
Rogic, Roberts, Armstrong (three of our most vital players last season) all out .
Dembele and Griffiths taking turns to get injured and neither of them having a proper run of games to get match fit.

Its not inconsistency we've only lost 2 games in almost 2 season , drew a few though this term but still better than the rest by miles.

    Inconsistency in performance.

I never said anything about results in the opening post.

Dropping points 1 game in every 3 this season reeks of inconsistency when you consider our squad and spending power compared to the rest. That doesn’t take into account the games we’ve managed to win without playing well and the humbling stuff in Europe. Not saying it’s relegation form for one minute but I could probably count on one hand the amount of times we’ve been at our best domestically.

I think injuries have played a huge part as we haven’t really had a settled XI all season and the lack of competition for places mean certain players are guaranteed to start every week regardless of form. Also as already pointed out, key players from last season have been sub par. However the lack of hunger shown in some games this season is seriously alarming in my opinion, feel the team has been going through the motions to a certain extent.

Usually until the point someone at the back takes a poor touch or hits a suicide pass allowing the opposition in. Most chances against us are our own doing
