In terms of the biggest club, where do we rank?

best fans in the world well looking at the attendances and atmosphere at celtic park this year i would have to disagree lads. 3 games ta go and still massive chance to win league tuesday night it was terrible. now look at the argentines and brazil and turks and even the germans now thats fanatical support.

 

in terms of current squad quality...top 25 - reflects by us being in pot 3 in the Champions League
in terms of club history...top 10 - to name a few Barca, Real, Utd, Liverpool, Juve, Ajax all higher than us. i wouldn't say Chelsea or Arsenal are. they're both living in their hay day now and have won * all.
in terms of fan base...top 30 - global fanbase of 9million isn't that impressive compared to 170million of Juves
in terms of fan quality...number 1 - shows by the reception and welcome on our European campaigns both home and away

 

We have one of the biggest fan bases but in terms of quality we would be hard pushed to make the top 25.

If it's based purely on the size of the support then we would be in the top 10.

fan base - one of the top 3 (us, Milan, barca. all man u's fans aren't really fans. these africans, americans, asians can't be considered man u fans as they'd change given success of club)

name - top 10

team - top 40 (edit, certainly not top 50 in world)

money wise! we are no where come paired to teams in england,spain ,italy,france and even germany.

if you say support ? i think we are top for that defo.

in the terms of history and trophies won etc? id say we are in the top 10 for that .

and as for your mate comming out with tripe like villa are bigger than celtic!!! slap him will you lol.

 

In my eyes there are two types of "supporters":

1) The true meaning - people who either goto games, or follow and watch games whatever country you're in. You have a keen interest in all aspects of the club, particularly the next game.

2) Casual fans - The kind of "asian" Man United fan who buy the strip but probably couldn't name you the first 11. Or haven't been to Old Trafford, or don't even know who you're playing next. They have the strip so are therefore affiliated with the team. Two words that may be bandied about here are "glory-hunter" and "soft-spot".

It's very difficult to say but I reckon Celtic have perhaps the most in the world of fan type number 1. Maybe top 5.

On a different note are there a lot of supporter clubs of other teams in Scotland? Is there like a Juventus S.C. Glasgow? A quick google is inconclusive...

Oh yes I forgot to say that clubs that say they have the "largest fanbase" in the world, such as Real Madrid or Manchester United, would have mostly fans that fall into category 2. Which is no bad thing economically.

I have absolutely no evidence but in my humblest of opinion Celtic have a very high number of category 1 per fan.
