Then * would play suspended players * nilly :smiley-laughing002:

The rule is fair and square, play a player who's meant to be banned and have the game overturned to an opposition win. Legia just * up big style and made a * of themselves.

True, if no action happened against Celtic and the player continued not to be banned after that, then St Patricks would have had a good case for getting them kicked out as they had a 25 man squad against them that he wasnt in, yet he would have effectively been in if they allowed his ban to be counted for those games, they'd have effectively been cheated.

Leigas punishment was not ,"thrown out of Europe" ffs. Your punishment happened to be a 3-0 loss. Thats no our fault you cant score a penalty or two. This we got thrown out of Europe pish. Naw. You lost. Deal with it!! Get it up ye!!!! The better teams through now anyway. Hope we meet you in the last 32. We will pump you because our team will be in full flow, all our players and a quality keeper. Get it up ye!!!!!

I think (not entirely sure) that they didn't actually register 25 players for the previous round and had spaces empty, so could've easily registered Beresznyski as well.

    I'm not picky.
I know all of this already so I don't know what your point is, mate :smiley-laughing002:

Ah but pretty much identical doesn't mean they ARE identical. I'm sure if UEFA saw them as being the same then there would only be one rule instead of the two. It may seem harsh, but, like I said before, UEFA obviously take a more dim view of teams playing a player who's supposed to be suspended due to being sent off in a previous match.

Anyway, mate, I think we'll need to agree to disagree cos I feel we'll just be going round in circles with these same points :smiley-laughing002:

I'm just glad that CAS saw sense in chucking out Legia's appeal. Just hope we don't * it up against Maribor now.

I think I read this as well somewhere. Saw that they had only registered a 23-man squad or something? The bottom line is that if they had registered Beresznyski then they would be through to the Play Off's...it's that simple.

They messed up, and they paid a hefty price for it.

I seriously think you are at it. You have been saying for days that the Legia and Debrecen cases were the same. Everyone has told you why they are not the same and yet you continue to repeat yourself. :bbpd:

    legia eligibity question

I was just thinking there, would legia not have been punishable regardless of the player coming on the pitch just for naming him as a sub while he was suspended?

Most probably not. I think the rules categorically state 'fielding an ineligible player' is punishable by 3-0 forfeit. The key word being 'fielding'.

Nah, surely as soon as he is named as a sub he is in the matchday squad therefore rule is broken right away.

Mind you, it's much more fun to think bringing him for 3 minutes is what actually done it. :smiley-laughing002:

Probably time to put this thread out to pasture anyway, it's old news now, just like Legia.

Not really. Your subs are counted too as otherwise, you could fill your bench full of players who are suspended or who are not even registered/signed with you to no punishment. They were * the moment they put him on the bench.

The outcome of this will be a fine and/or a slap on the wrist but I'd * * myself laughing if UEFA decided to kick them out of the Europa League with all their previous * in mind.

Thought their banner was harmless and to be fair it looks pretty cool with the pyro * going on in the background.
