I'll be singing this during Legia's next home game against Korona:

We forgot to register our songs, forgot to register our songs, we are Legia Warsaw and we forgot to register our songs... :54:

*hopefully it'll sound better in Polish*

Case is between Legia and UEFA now, might drag on for a while.

Good luck Celtic in the last qualifying round.

    I'm not picky.
No they are not else UEFA wouldn't have two separate rules for the two separate issues.

Like I said before, Legia should have checked to make sure he was legal to play. In all honesty, if they thought he was legal to play when he wasn't even registered in the 25-man team for the 1st tie, then they are being pretty incompetent because how can a player serve a suspension for a competition he's not registered for? It was very amateurish from Legia to presume something like this instead of checking. I'm betting they will be a bit more switched on when checking on things like this from now on.

It's all really a moot point now as CAS has, quite rightly, chucked Legia's appeal out. Maybe it will get put to bed now, but knowing the way Legia have been over the last couple of weeks, I won't be surprised if they take it to the Swiss courts.

He WAS registered for the 1st Celtic game but wasn't picked because he was serving his 1st of 3 match suspension. They thought that the 1st match against Celtic was the final match of his 3 match suspension because he wasn't included in their first 2 qualifying matches.(Stupid *)
This is why they played him but all UEFA see is the fact they played a suspended player.
Had sympathy for the fans but after all their moaning and campaigning they can * off.

I feel like I've said this around 10 times but here goes again. I understand that they broke the rules and that the punishment was fair under the current rules. All I've said is I think the rule should be changed after the season to allow more leniency.

The situations are pretty much identical though, a player who isn't supposed to be playing was played in good faith for a few minutes at the end of a tie that was already done. You point out that the rules are different but that is my entire point, they shouldn't be. Are the Legia case and the Debrecen case so vastly different that they should warrant so vastly different punishments. Legia should be thrown out of the competition because they violated the rules. But I feel the rules as currently written are harsh and should allow for more leniency from Uefa.

I agree with you that Legia were in the wrong I don't know why you and other s on here need to keep mentioning their incompetence/the manner in which they violated the rules. I'm well aware of all of that and I have never argued in their favor. Rules are rules and they should be expelled. All I've said (over and over and over) is that I think the current rule of a 3-0 forfeit no matter what the circumstances is harsh, especially considering the fact that the ineligible player rule allows for such a greater amount of leniency from Uefa for almost the same situation.

Why not get rid of all the rules?

A player who is inelligible can be inelligible because of a technical
issue eg wrong paperwork,or not signed in time, played for another club in the same competition. So this player hasn't always done something wrong personally. I don't think you can appeal against these things

A suspender player has been suspended usually for breaking the rules on the pitch, eg dirty play, dangerous play, culmination of yellow card offences,
hun *. straight red card. So he deserves to be suspended, he has a chance of appealing the red card etc. in the immediate aftermath of the
suspension & if he is cleared he would be able to play. But he wasn't

Do you not see the difference now.
The suspended player has usually been a bit of a * already.

Well, I suppose I am, really. I certainly do lack your wit and intellectual brilliance, mate. But think of it this way--you, fascinating people, need us, almighty bores, to shine. Without us you would be just like anyone else.

Richard Wilson made a good point on BBC Sportsound. (funny hearing Billy Dodds 'outing' him as a sevco fan the other night) The 25 player squad rule was broken by Legia as when you have players suspended you can't replace them in your squad. So be really dirty have four players suspended for the next match and your squad effectively goes down to 21. So effectively Legia by not listing the suspended player Legia had one man too many in their squad. So cheating however slightly. So really in a way the first leg should have been given to Celtic. Also perhaps the club with most to moan about are not Legia but in fact St Patrick's who were beaten by a team who had a squad that was one man too many!
