Surely there fans must be getting embarrassed by this now.

When it happened at first there were a few Celtic fans saying they were embarrassed to be let in through the back door. (mental)

They are more or less just begging now and don't have a decent argument at all!

Thanks for the clarification. I am worried in the sense that we have been given a CL place by UEFA after Legia's error but just as quickly it can be taken away again through no fault of our own. Fans and players will be gutted and we are all looking forward to the Maribor games which may now not happen.

At the end of the day if UEFA decide to put us back into the EL qualifiers then we will just need to accept it and get on with it unlike our friends at Legia.

UEFA could also still rule in our favour but reduce the punishment and have us back in ELQ :31:

*this thread needs a little bit more dramatism and suspense*

The world from Norway to South Africa, from Portugal to Australia, holds its breath before tomorrow's decision!

Will it be the triumph of football or the triumph of petty bureaucracy?

Who will rejoice--the true football fans or the lovers of paperwork, eager to benefit from the mistake of one poor woman (a very ungentelmanly thing to do)?

    Only time will tell...

    *now, that's better*

I wouldn't put it past them.

I understand that it was probably unfair on the other opponents when Celtic replaced Sion. My point is that Celtic were not benefiting from their own 'cheating'/mistake. If Legia are successful in their appeal, they would be benefiting from their own maladministration- it would surely set an extremely dangerous precedent?

It is not excessive if that is what the UEFA regulations say.

Besides would you not want our club to have another potential crack at the CL again and a guarantee of millions rather than the EL. That is why the head banging because I want my club to get the best they can :celt_2:

Since we have established that in fact Legia and their scumbag fans have no ‘honour’ and since Legia have a history of match-fixing, has there been any suggestion that not registering Bartosz Bereszynski and then playing him against us was in fact a deliberate action?

When you consider the two weak penalties from them and the general consensus that Legia could and should have scored a few more goals against us in Warsaw there does appear to be grounds for an investigation.

Good point! It was all a delibarate action from Legia aimed at taking Celtic's seeding in the CL play-off... no... wait a minute... shouldn't that be in the conspiracy theories thread? :56:

No need to be, Celtic are through to the next round on merit. We deserve to be there.

Of course, were no there on merit through our football ability but because we stayed within the rules of the tournament..... And Legia didn't!

There is no way imo it'll be overturned.

It was actually 4 members of staff who have been dismissed is it not?

The woman was the last line of defence?

So not 1, nor 2, nor infact 3 but 4 times Legia staff missed it!!!

Yep a very ungentlemanly thing to do - we should instead have done what those fine upstanding Legia fans did and acted with the legendary Legia 'honor', fair play and a true sporting nature by instead issuing death threats to this poor woman.

Honestly can't see how uefa can reverse it, even if they wanted to. Would open a massive can of worms. Making a mockery of the rules.
Think tomorrow will just be about humouring them tbh.
