How the * did you manage to place Lennon ahead of Strachan? Come on, be reasonable. I'm aware that Lenny has done a fantastic job here so far and has had to overcome far more personal issues during his time as manager than Strachan had to (death threats and physical assault being just two), but Strachan is still quite a bit ahead of Lennon in that list right now, in terms of titles, trophies and experience.

He was the first manager since Stein to win three in a row, up against one of the best managers the zombies have ever had, not to mention getting us into the last 16 of the CL twice. Strachan is one of the best managers we've ever had. If he had played for Celtic, you would have ranked him ahead of Lennon. Guaranteed.

I don't think it is really debatable that those men are our top 5, even if you would switch the order they are above everyone else in achievements. Lennon is not near Strachan yet. Absolutely no reason for him to named above him.

Strachan the greatest ever manager of my generation for me, how anyone can put Lennon above him is beyond me.

Surprised by the lack of Billy McNeil in people's top 5. I suppose it is all about opinions though.

I'm not one of these Strachan haters that you seem to have perceived me as mate. I adore Strachan but I don't think either Lennon or Strachan get enough credit for what they achieved. I was gutted when Strachan left and still love the man. Let's get that straight :50:

Lennon took over at Celtic when we were a shambles. Our team was a mess. team full of daisies with far too many loanees. Our reputation was in tatters and we hadn't been to the CL proper for about 3 seasons. He took this team and attempted the outrageous - a complete u-turn. It was like trying to give Brad Pitt a * change. Tony Mowbray brought this team to it's lowest point in my lifetime (that I can remember). the worst team since the 90s.

As you touched on, he has overcome a great personal hurdle in the form of death threats etc. and that's just the icing on the Neil Lennon cake though.
Look at us now. 2nd in a group of Barcelona, Benfica and Spartak Moscow. Our first away win in the champions league ever! He overcame a 15 point deficit in the league last year too!

Neil Lennon saved Celtic from going down an almost inevitable gloomy path. Following in the footsteps of clubs like Liverpool, Leeds and Blackburn. (Liverpool may be a bit harsh but they're a mere shadow of their former selves now. Anyway, you get my point :50:). we were in sever danger of becoming a run of the mill club and Lennon has done a remarkable job, to say the least. I defy anyone to say after Mowbray was sacked they thought we'd be beating Spartak moscow away from home in the champions league 2 years later.

I don't think Lenny's up there with Strachan quite yet. I think that'll change very soon though.

I can't really argue with any of that. Fair play. Both men deserve a whole lot more praise than they currently get from sections of our supporters though, that is for sure.

I hope that Lennon will one day be able to surpass Strachan's trophy count as manager here, as well as equalling (or surpassing) Strachan's record in Europe. I reckon he could do it easily if he stays here for another few years.

I think Strachan's achievments might be a bit undervalued. Last 16 of the Champions League two years in a row, knocked out only by the eventual champions, Milan, after taking them to extra-time, three league titles in a row (the first manager since Stein to achieve this if I'm not mistaken) competing against a strong Rangers side (and the cheating that comes with), a Scottish Cup and two League Cups. He has the highest 'silverware to years managed' ratio (? :smiley-laughing002:) of any Celtic manager, excluding Stein of course. The football obviously wasn't as attractive as under Stein, O'Neill, Lennon, Burns, etc. but I think he deserves a lot of credit for what he brought to the club.

    Stein
    Maley
    Strachan/O'Neill
    Jansen

I couldn't separate O'Neil and Strachan. I think Wim Jansen has to get a bit of recognition also. If the scum had won 10 in a row, it would have been thrown in our face for the rest of our lives. By stopping that, they are still just the second team to achieve 9. As for Stein and Maley, they simply have got to be 1 & 2 in my opinion.
