UEFA Cup Final and I'd tell Rab Douglas to catch it this time instead of kneeing the ball out to strikers. :31:

DID you know that rab douglas a few days before that match was second choice keeper

julian broto,,got his chance 3/4 games before the final and did fantastic, but he was holding out on a new contract, the better he played the more he wanted as his contract was days from expiry..on the day it expired broto decided to accept celtics terms,,only to be told by oniel ,sorry m8 to late ,,your contract has expired and showed him the door foor being difficult in contract terms,,hence douglas being back for the final

Agreed. It might be a bit harsh but I could never forgive big Rab for that. I never liked him as much after that night.

The game the huns won the league 3-0 at parkhead...that was more horrible for me personally. especially when they all started clapping when regi blinker came on.

MON's biggest error and blind spot, a nervous wreck every big game, just never was cut out for the top level.

After the team had fought so hard in that game it still kills me that such a basic * error sold the jerseys. :31:

Im convinced we would've won the league and the UEFA cup had he not been in goal.

We drew 3-3 with the huns at parkhead despite pummeling them for long spells in that game and he was at fault for EVERY goal.

I liked Broto, think he could've solved our goalkeeping problems at the time had it worked out.

The New year game at Ibrox in 1995 a think when Cadete got that goal chopped of and they went up the park and scored straight after, think if we had won that game Tommy would have won the league that year.

    Robbed in that game.

    Oviously Seville as well.

The 1974 euro cup semi against athletico madrid when the spanish * kicked us off the park in the first leg at cp with some of the worst tackles i have ever seen in a game.
Once again uefa bottled it by not kicking them out of the tournament and we could have been in 3 euro cup finals in 7yr.

I was 10years old and i remember that game like it happened yesterday ,that was brutal and GBH all rolled into one ,the state of Jinkys legs in the paper the next day were a disgrace ,and yet we where expecting the same in the 2nd leg and they played football ,they got what they wanted at Parkhead and if i remember right they played all there defenders from the first team and 2nd team just to knock the * out of Celtic and the return they played there first team who could play ,bassa's.

we would have been in our glory, the huns would have been jumping out windows
and hopefully landing on spikey railings

:50:Spot on i was 11yr old and at the game with my father and there must have been about 90,000 at cp that night and as you say the treatment jinky got that night was practically attemp murder, they played a team full of hackers that night and had 3 men sent off and one of the worst was an argentinian * called ayala, jinky + jock stein received death threats i think before the second leg in madrid and uefa were talking about throwing madrid out of the competition for their behaviour at cp but bottled it as usual.but the performance of jinky in the first leg was the bravest i have ever seen the way he got up after every brutal tackle and kept running at them knowing they were trying to seriously injure him is something i will always remember.

could have been 4 - Dixie Deans missed a penalty in the euro cup semi in 1972

we were an amazing team during this period and probably should have been more successful in the euro arena
