i think stokes warrants a start, granted tonight was against killie but * me their was alot of pressure on everybody , so as far as saying hes no a big game player lets start him with hoops and go for the * throat and go from there.

I think we could play Ben Hutchinson up front on Sunday & still beat them

When we go on the break were fast until the balls passed to sammy then everything slows down and the defenders catch up attack ruined.

    Sammy out Stokesy in!

Whether some people like it or not, Samaras will play on Sunday at the San Giro. Just saying right now, so no one is disappointed when Stokes ends up back on the bench :50:

It didn't work in the Cup Final, cost us the Cup, and it won't work on Sunday.Rangers have got wise to Samaras. They would fear Stokes and Hooper running at them.

I would play Sammy. Firstly, he usually plays very well against the huns and is at his most effective playing on his own - we must play 1 up top in my opinion. Stokes has already proved he can't play the striking role on his own so presumably everyone who wants him to start want to play a 4-4-2 with Hooper alongside. This would be madness in my opinion. We struggled badly enough in the cup final with that formation, don't anyone fall into the trap of thinking that was just an off-day. That was a culmination of Davis playing at his best, the Rangers players being on-top of their game and fully motivated, which allowed them to expose the frailties of the 4-4-2 system. The midfield battle is where the game is won and lost so we must play 5 in there to give us the best possible chance. Also, don't forget a draw would be an excellent result for us so there's no need for us to be too open or attack-minded. Another thing that's useful about Sammy (and believe me he frustrates me as much as anyone else!) is the height he gives the team in both defending against set pieces and giving us an out-ball.

I would be angry about it because we'd be dropping, not one but, two strikers who have contributed 30+ goals between them to Celtic's cause this season in favour of a guy who would struggle to score in a barrel of fannies.

What's Samaras' scoring record.......3 league goals in 14 months or something? Abysmal.

It's time to unleash the Hooper - Stokes partnership on that creaking Rangers back four.

Stokes HAS to start on Sunday against this mob. Especially after him and Hooper's performance last Sunday against Aberdeen and then tonight at Rugby Park. Such an amazing understanding of each other. I really feel they can both run riot against the Rangers backline. If Stokes starts, he'll be desperate to prove that Lennon made the right choice going with him. In his Hibs days, he scored quite a fair few against Rangers. So why not with us?

I'd be so disappointed if, once again, we drop our top goalscorer and break up our best striking partnership for this game.

This is the reason i don't think Sammy will start, Lenny will be acutely aware of the importance of sundays game, the cup final will have planted a seed of doubt in his mind regards Sammy, this game should be treated as a cup final in itself, the time has come to unleash the deadly duo, it's do or die .....:shamrock:

It's a big decision for Lennon, that's for sure.

He either goes with Hooper along, or with Hooper and Stokes. I can't seee Samaras starting the game.

If he starts we back him simple as that if Lennon thinks he is the right man for the game then we back him 100% .

I do not want to see Sammy start on Sunday. We do not want to pick our team based on playing them, we need to put out what is our strongest team on paper.

I totally agree but if Lennon wants to play one up front, then Samaras is the best option in my opinion. Samaras is on a three year deal, everyone knows he is a confidence player - so whether people like him or not, it would be best just to get behind him if he starts. I'm hoping Stokes and Hooper start as well but will back the players no matter who starts. I trust Lennon's judgement.

The midfield is key, going by the cup final we need to cut davis out and to do that without ledley we need ki,brown and kayal dominating the middle. 5 in midfield and this means Samaras up top, he can be a gamble but they need the win and will leave space at the back, perfect for Sammy's pace

If Samaras starts on Sunday then he will have my support during the match. As is always the case. I cannot pretend I'll be happy about the decision to start him though, I am really hoping to see Stokes and Hooper given a chance to wreak havoc on Weir and Bogie.

I can see where your comming from but tbh this is what they will be expecting, they will set up accordingly it will suit them, we need to give them something to think about, something we never did in the cup final.
