exactly right . I can not understand a club of our size having not realised you need to spend money for a proper striker . We have spent over ten million on 4 or 5 * strikers when we could have just signed a couple of decent ones . Pukki and Balde , im sorry lennon/lawwell/park but what the * were you thinking , neither of them have any ability whatsoever , slow , lackluster, no awareness and cant score goals. Its not like they have had unlucky spells , neither of them have the actual attributes to be good centre forwards. And we blagged about 4 or 5 mill on that pair . * disgrace.

    A decent game?

We got beat in the league I don't see how you can call that decent, regardless of the players we put out.

The only sad thing about today is that it isn't a shock, or disappointing on its own, it's just yet more massive evidence of the problems most fans have known for over a year.

Literally not a single good striker at the club (signing dud after dud whilst we sold the best 2 young strikers for * all). Zero creativity in the final 3rd. No link up between defence and midfield, allowing opposition to waltz right through us at will. No leadership without Brown.

Stokes is getting worse, his touch was honestly * today, he couldn't control anything at all. His best year was his first season, 2010/11 when him, Hooper, Commons & Forrest were delightful. Since then he's slowly losing all his good attributes (skill and touch), and hasn't improved his poor ones (rash shooting, always offside, lack of pace) - same as Mulgrew. Plus all our good youngsters constantly being injured - what the * are we coaching these *?!?

Off the pitch we're in arguably our best state ever yet on the pitch we have barely half a dozen players good enough to wear the hoops. It's a bizarre situation.

It has to be the worst strike force we've had since the early nineties.

Simply didn't look like scoring today, and some of the attempts, Pukki's in particular, were just pathetic.

    He really hasn't.

I think you should actually watch the games instead of questioning peoples support in here. :smiley-laughing002:

How could you play Boerrigter as he is suspended . I thought all Celtic fans knew that.

Just seen the game cause I was working, have to say Pukki is * when it matters need to get shot of him, Commons does not look interested and can see him being moved on and everyone and the blind man with his dog can see we need a proven goal scorer yet we are left wanting yet again.......

Today's has showed that our depth is not good enough and let's hope the management and board see this and invest.

Over all I'm not too bothered about today because we have our biggest game of the season on Tuesday to come so fingers crossed resting everyone for that game will pay off and let's face it the 3 points dropped will not matter come May.

I have watched every game I possibly could for more years than I care to remember and not for the first time O'Connell wasn't the worse Celtic player today . The problem is that some people who claim to be Celtic fans think it is funny to pick on individual players .
Earlier on some geniuses said that O'Connell couldn't read the nonsense posted before the game and of course they could be right and probably are , but managers differ and it is possible that Deila would let young players check their phones up to half an hour before K.O to help to reduce their nerves .

You said O'Connell has performed just as well as any other youngster in pre season.

Are you seriously trying to tell me he has been as impressive as Henderson and McGregor?

I think you enjoyed the summer of love a bit too much.

One positive.. At least we haven't been given time to get out hopes up about an unbeaten season in the league :smiley-laughing002:

How much did Boerrigter, Pukki and Balde cost us? £6/7m?

Bringing in three foreigner players is the reason we have none of our own talent coming through.

If we are prepared to spend up to £7 mil on three players (which have done literally nothing for us), why can't we spend it on one gem and actually improve the team?

Players that we used to be capable of signing seem to be more expensive and we're stuck buying lower championship level players that constantly make league one mistakes - such as Stokes snapping at shots... £20,000 a week and you're still snapping at shots?

I'll idmit that I thought Boerrigter and Pukki were both going to be great signings for us coming in from Schalke and Ajax. However, they just look uninterested by the Scottish League.

Dundee Utd sold two players for about £6m this summer which might be a good indicator of the quality level we're spending at. Pathetic for a club with 60,000 seats.

I look at teams like Basel and Salzburg with hope that we never draw them.

We spent nothing close to £6/7m on them, pure paper talk.

As for them beign the reason we have no youngsters coming through, I think McGregor, Henderson, Fisher, McGeouch, O'Connell would have something to say about that.

Sean Mr Daleer font of knowledge, outstanding in his own mind

Henderson impressed Deila so much he seemed to have forgotten human.

Draxler, Meyer, Ginter, Gotze were all examples of youngsters coming through. They're just local German kids coming out of German academies.

Fischer, Sterling... Even Gauld and Robertson are good examples of youngsters coming through.

Mcgeouch is *, he's been around the team for about 3/4 years now and still looks poor.
If Henderson, Fisher and O'connell are our answers then we have a huge problem going forward.

McGregor is the only one to somewhat impress in a long time, in my opinion.
