Maeda looks like he’s struggling with injury

 

I wouldn't assume that this season, he was missing sitters left and right. That's not to defend Idah though, I've never been convinced by him, if Kyogo was still here I'd be starting him ahead of Idah even in his shittest run of form.

Rodgers should make huge changes at half time, if nothing else but to make a statement

 

Losing 3 league games to a Hun team in the Le Guen/Warburton/Murty mold who are miles behind in the table us is a stain on our season, not gonna lie. If they win this, watch them fail to win the other 3 remaining games.

We need to get a lot more ball out to Maeda - or, better yet, move him to striker.

Idah, Trusty, Engels. Absolutely rotten for the outlay. Unforgivable actually.

Biggest issus, individually, Engels not doing anywhere near enough in midfield, Ralston is probably rusty but is too hesitant in the final third.

Team wise, heavily underutulising Meada. If the ball OTT isn't happening, get someone close for a one-two and release. Ball to feet ain't working for him. I've counted at least four turnovers Taylor to Maeda.

Its clear we miss Maeda through the middle and AJ on the right.

Hatate has been the only midfielder that increases the tempo when we dip to pedestrian.

But seriously, Celtic's tactics are far, far too predictable in this fixture, and Rodgers insistence on these, and seeming inflexibility to learn and adapt has to be questioned also.

 

I don’t think Engels is a bad player but he isn’t a game changer and we need an attacking mid like Oriley and a proper DM beside him. Hatate, McGregor and Engels aren’t gelling together and haven’t worked in a lot of big games.

I’d take Leigh Griffiths over Idah any day. That boy is overrated. He’s not the level we should be operating at but I can see why we bought him after his contribution on loan but I think by now it’s safe to say we got done.

Need to bring on Yang for the second half and move Maeda into the middle. Maybe bring Schlupp on for Taylor.

Play the same way the second half and they'll score another 2 at least.

No real pass marks out there, a draw would be a good result in the face of things, if we lose a third time then questions will be asked of Rodgers, treble or not, as mental as that may sound.
