Unbelievable movie. What are your thoughts on it and what was the reaction in UK/Ireland?

I thought it was excellent. I assume the starvation scenes were done in some form of CGI. It really shows the brutality without delving too deep into the politics of the situation. It may have been a better film if it had given the political reasoning behind their incarceration and hunger strike.

Fassbender lost 33 pounds in 10 weeks. And the 17 minute uncut scene with Sands and Father Dom, the two actors lived together and rehearsed the scene 12 times a day.

That's dedication. * being a method actor. "Get me the CGI boys!" would have been the cry from me.

It was a fine film. Michael Fassbender is something else.

I thought it was a good film and the scene with Sands and the Priest is really emotive.

Thought it was good... Quite difficult to watch at some points without feeling angry. The priest scene is immense.

Took a subject I would have liked to have known more about as I was only a toddler when it happened and they turned it into a slow boring film. Big fat yawn.

The 17 minute scene is one of my favourite pieces of film ever, utterly outstanding.

I watched the first 45 minutes of it. I couldn't watch anymore of it purely because it made my blood boil.
