My worry is if no big clubs come in for him,and championship sides are the only ones offering 4m plus then hooper will run down his contract and leave for nothing

I thought some 'bigger' clubs would be looking at him tbh, especially considering he will be going for a knockdown price.

Well it just shows what the clubs down in England actually think of hooper when no big clubs have been interested.

They'll be on the plane right now, I think. Seen a picture of the squad at the airport not too long ago.

Burnley star Austin is one of the strikers Hoops boss Neil Lennon has on his radar if Hooper were to be sold.

Hull failed with a £4million bid – which would have gone up to £5m with add-ons – for Celtic’s top scorer last month.

The Tigers left that rejected offer on the table knowing the SPL champions weren’t going to get the auction they wanted for a player entering the final year of his deal.

Hull have since stepped up their efforts to land Austin, who is also in the final year of his contract, for around £4m.

Sources close to Hooper expect that deal to go through and for Hull to cool their interest in the Celtic star.

It would be a blow to the Hoops, who are keen to maximise any transfer fee for Hooper before he is able to leave Parkhead for free next summer.

Long-term admirers Norwich City could come back into the mix but will only make a move for the striker if they can sell Grant Holt, who wants to return to the north of England, with Wigan Athletic reported to be interested.

Maybe one day soon it'll dawn on Hooper that his best chance of a call up to the England squad is to sign on here for another two seasons. Goals are what will get him their and he's got a much better chance of getting them here, than at Hull.

If he doesn't want to be here then he can * off.

He's a good player, nothing special, though. He won't create goals on his own - it's needs to be given to him on a plate.

He is as clinical as Scott McDonald was.

He'll be easily replaced. Cannot be arsed with players that don't appreciate Celtic.

That whole post is a lot of bollocks.

Easily replace 30+ goals a season on a minimal budget? I'm by no means saying he is irreplaceable, however to say he's easily replaceable is a load of rubbish.

As for not creating chances, his link up play, particularly with Stokes has been fantastic and he's been involved in a load of goals that have either ended in him scoring or somebody else. He may not beat 4 players and then finish but he does so much other work in the build up to a lot of our goals.

Also your whole posts is based on media speculation, nobody other than himself truly know what he wants.

It could be a case that the club are trying to offer him a contract he feels is unacceptable which, if not in line with the highest earners would be totally understandable.

Can't see him going back to the Championship even if the bid is big enough for us. If it was accepted it would indicate what fee we're looking for to other clubs though so could encourage other bidders.
