There's still a danger of him going for nothing. That's the nightmare scenario of course.

West ham would be a good move for his England prospects if he could get a partnership with Carroll going

£20 says that there is an intervention waiting for this guy at home tonight.

    Wait, is that all?

That fee would be quite underwhelming in all honesty...

Markets dictate value and the indication so-far is that the market presently values Hooper around £5-6 million.

This is a pretty decent figure considering the market apparently valued him at around £7 million during the January transfer window and he's not played particularly well since (and he's now 6 months closer to becoming a free-agent).

The way I see it is that if Celtic have dropped a * by indicating they will accept bids around the £5-6 million pound mark, then I would fully expect a load of teams to be circling around like vultures ready to exploit that mistake. The simple fact is that the interest in him is pretty weak... and it's coming from also-ran clubs.

It seems to me that the club is hanging out for more cash... they'll have played a blinder if it works out (and within a suitable timeframe for us to get in a new recruit). It might be a mess if it doesn't.

Thankfully, us fans don't have to deal with the real pressures surrounding these matters!

Unfortunately. Otherwise he is a £10M player.

Why is he being so difficult anyway, I can't imagine the problem is on Celtic's side. I believe Celtic offered him a healthy contract as he's our most valuable player, which is made very clear by Lennon many a time, and he probably still turned it down. Why the * would you rather play for Hull than a Champions League team?? Just doesn't add up to me.

However, if ANY player does not want to be here, leave. If your heart is not in the club and you are not dedicated to the cause, then I do not want you at the club I love.

Lennon said the contract would put him up with 2-3 top earners not the top.

Now If you look at our captain he is our best paid player at the club. Hooper may want the same or something with bonus we will never know. unless it comes out when he leaves.

Quite like to see hooper playing kingside Carroll for the hammers and they might part with 6m I hope. The more cash the better with a clause if he plays for engurland we get another few bob sell on fee the works..

The sooner this gets resolved the better . I hope we move him on soon as I don't think we will see vintage Hooper next season if he is still playing for the hoops .

I would just give him the * money he wants and ensure he signs a new deal.

When the guy could be the difference between us getting out of the group stages (if we get there) and into the last 16 for the second season in a row, what is an extra £10k or whatever it is he wants in comparison to another £25m?

Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that QPR and Norwich target Gary Hooper will return to training ahead of his side’s Champions League qualifier with Cliftonville.

The former Scunthorpe man has been reported to be in talks with Rangers, while the Canaries are keen to bring the frontman to Carrow Road.

“We have had a bid in with a couple of clubs,” Lennon said. “He has spoken to one club but talks are ongoing.

“It may be if things don’t go well for them in that aspect we get a very good player on our hands.

“He’ll train tomorrow and he’ll be in contention for a starting place until Tuesday and it’s as you were until things develop otherwise.

My take from that is he has held talks with Qpr and waiting to see if a prem club comes in for him first .

Doesn't sound too keen, must've been QPR he was talking to. I'd say he's waiting for a PL club aye. To be honest it's getting boring as * and it's clear he won't sign a new deal, also, I doubt he'll play on Tuesday even if Lennon says he's in contention for a starting place, in case he gets injured or something. Just go ffs :smiley-laughing002:
