That's precisely how I see him; especially those last four words.

There's a part of me that thinks that 'flashiness' would be enough to see him do quite well here, but then there's another part of me that really worries about targeting 'risky' players like this.

 

He's Wigans all time leading goalscorer in the Premiership. With 24 goals.

Jesus.

 

I wouldn't take him. Nothing I've seen from him suggests he's better than what we've got already and his goalscoring record is poor.

 

I would love Rodallega. Big, strong, pacy. Not sure of his wages.

 

30k a week probs but no outlay on transfer fee, i think this could be a great move and him and hooper up top sounds good but my first choice would be rhodes

 

Well you think 30-40k a week on a 3 year deal is 4.6 mil to 6.2 mil and if we spent 4-5 million on Rhodes and gave him say £20k a week your looking at £7/8 million for him. Just depends the route in which Lenny wants to go down. Think both would be cracking. I obviously know sign on fee/agent fee and all that also need to be included but I was just doing rough figures.

 

id be happy enough with him but id want rhodes or someone like the pog or klasnic first imo

 

How many goals do people think Rhodes would score for Wigan in the Premiership?

Rhodes seems too Kris Boyd like for me, to think about spending £4/5million on him. He would obviously score 20 or whatever a season but Stokes does that and only cost £1million.

 

More than 2 in one season.

 

I would take Rodallega in a heartbeat, no doubt about it.

I would prefer Rhodes though.

 

Reckon we will get neither sadly.

 

If we had qualified automatically for the CL, I'd have expected us to sign the likes of him and Rhodes, but as it is, I think we'll miss out on both.

Was just wondering if it was because Wigan couldn't afford his wages or if he was wanting to leave. I'd assume he'll get a few offers on the table. If there was in substance in this story, maybe the lure of Champions League football could do it for us.

Not a better goalscorer than stokesy though and I'd be interested to see if he could match his assist record in the SPL. He can play at a higher level though, for his all round game and attributes.

would rather put more money into getting and paying for rhodes than take a risk on rodallega who could want EPL wages from us.

 

But Rhodes would be a risk....at least £4-£5m in fee and he would want a premiership wage if he had options there too!

Rodallega is FREE so just wages and has played at the top level

 

Don't fancy him personally.
