As we can see at Parkhead on matchdays, it is no longer a sell out.
I've spoken to people at work, and people who dont go anymore, who are blaming the way Strachan played as reason not to go, even though he won us 3 in a row. They want us to play 'the celtic way', and want us to go back to being the way we were under Tommy Burns.
I have to disagree.
Would you A - Prefer us to play rubbish football and win the league
OR
B - Play the way we did under Burns and only win 1 scottish cup??
Discuss How would u like to see us play?? in the Celtic Chat area at TalkCeltic.net.

I love good football, and I grew up with that Celtic, so I'm going with Burnsy's football style. Don't see the point of long balls over the head of players like McGeady and Maloney!

Strachan all the way end of the day its all about success great European nights not had that since O'Neil and dare I say Strachan!
-
i am a bit undecided in this one tbh, obviously it's good to be winning the league year after year and get past the group stages in the champions league but at the same time you do want to see a good style of football, if only we could combine the 2 Success & Style :celt_2:

I like the fact Mowbray is trying to play an attractive style of football and I'd love to see him get his players in to do so. But like Anton says, with style must come success.

I came to be a Celtic fan under Strachan's time, and thoroughly enjoyed beating teams like Man U, AC Milan, etc. Really relished those European nights.

You are basically saying if we choose good football then we can't have success but if we choose dross football then we can win the league. If that is point you are trying to make then that is a lot of absolute garbage!
It is possible to play good football AND win the league. That is what I want to see at Celtic. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A CHOICE BETWEEN SUCCESS OR GOOD FOOTBALL.
For that reason I have not voted on this poll.Last edited by a moderator: Dec 1, 2009 -
I do despair a little when people go on about Celtic during that time in the 90's because I certainly don't remember this so called attractive football.

I voted A, due to the fact, i want to win the league this year,if it means playing
poor then i will be happy finishing 1 point above the rest.
we must move forward thou and put the Strachan days behind us
onwards and upwards matey -
If we had mc stay pierre di canio cadette etc today we would win the treble and maybe even the europa cup but im afraid we dont have the quality of player at the club today to play the type of football we yearn for:celt_2:

Out of the two choices there it obviously has to be the strachan 3 in a row way. For trophys only
-
I think we have to be realistic here, there is no way we can play good football with the players that we have at the moment. If TM can bring in better quality in the transfer window, then try to play nice football. If the players are good enough then, great, if not forget the nice football until we have capable players, just grind out the results. For all GS faults, his tactics for europe were spot on.
Looking forward to a brighter future!!!

I think I must be the only one who doesn't see this so-called football revolution. If any thing under Mowbray the ball is moved slower and attacking is basically moving the ball just inside their half or in front of the box. The wingers are less direct, there is little fluidity, and rather than progressive, the team is pedestrian. Overall I would like an attacking team that can win games! Mowbray says he studies Arsenal but that seems to mean we only try and walk the ball into the net without the flair of the Gunners.

The Tommy Burns way as, this time with Mowbray, will result in more success. Fact.

I think exactly the same. -

i enjoy winning and i enjoy goals. we need to understand we arent Barcelona, we dont have the players or the funds. we play in a league which consists of bulleys, thugs and defenses which give opposition teams little time on the ball.
