    But £27 million? :56:

I think he's probably worth around £5 million, maybe a bit more. I could maybe be convinced that he is worth £10 million (although I currently doubt it) but not £27 million. No way.

And I think he is a great wee player who deserves a chance to show he can do it at CL level.

I think you are forgetting that the arrival of Brendan Rodgers in Scotland will have created shockwaves in the EPL establishment, and have made them sit up and have a rethink about Scottish football, no doubt about it.

We are not the footballing backwater some would have us make out, and I think you are placing far too much emphasis on those paragons of virtue the EPL and Championship.

I do reckon you can place a 40 goal striker in the SPL right alongside the values of Van Dijk, Wanyama and Forster.

Alan Hutton went for £10M why not the Griff ?
I do agree with you Griffiths could fetch between £10-15M if marketed properly. But do we wish to sell ?

I don't think we'd get that but I'd certainly demand it if a club wanted him.

I'd say we'd be lucky to get £5m, probably around £3-3.5m, that's what an English team would bid for him.

I like wee Griff, but outwith his goals, I think he still has a long way to go.

However if he was playing in the EPL, then you'd probably be paying about £15m, even outwith scoring 40 goals.

We sold Vic and Virgil for like half that, though. I can see your logic but it's still mental. :smiley-laughing002:

I don't know who'd laugh hardest: other clubs if we asked for £27 million or Lawwell if we were offered 3. :56::56::56::56:

And the money being thrown around football is literally crazy. If Celtic can take advantage of it, we should.

I haven't said this at all and I do not agree we would get anywhere near that for him.

He'd literally have to bang in about 6-8 goals for us in the CL Groups this season against each side home and away and alter his game drastically for me to believe we could get that for him.

Pukki hasn't joined Sunderland so I don't know why you keep mentioning this.

OK. But I think you acquiesced at £10M -£15M as the ceiling for a Scottish player.
I am not arguing with you there as it currently stands.

What if he did ? Would you change your opinion then ?

You are setting the bar incredibly high.
Gary Hooper was eventually sold for £5M but I think he was undervalued, and arguably Griffiths is a superior player to Hooper.

Hmm am not overly keen on release clauses as they are pretty much the ceiling we would get should he want to leave. If we need to have one then lets go with 20 million.

Oops my mistake , change Gold for Diamonds :86: :smiley-laughing002:

    6-8 goals home and away. * me:56:

'Lets just set the bar incredibly and unrealistically high so I never have to be proven wrong.'

Hooper got 2 goals in total in the group stages yet Griffiths has to get quadruple that to look better..christ. Even Larsson would be stretching to get that many.

Apparently agreed a fee of £3 million, though.

Unrealistically high? Try insanely high. He's actually asking for better than a goal a game in the * CL. If he were doing that he really would be worth £27 million.

Point is if Pukki's worth £3 million, Griffiths must be worth more.
