I don't think this slide rule comparison with the EPL and Championship is an accurate reflection of a player's true worth and value.

Griffiths has played down in England with Wolves in the Premier League and Division one. He's done that.

On a one to one basis with Ross McCormack, even though McCormack has improved tremendously, I would still rate Griffiths the more productive and better all round player, and Griffiths is four years younger, so if Cormack is worth £12M, then I would think Griffiths must be worth even more

No he hasn't, sitting on the bench in the EPL does not mean you have played in the EPL, obviously.

And by Division 1 I'm guessing you mean League 1 not the Championship.

I'm not even going to get into a debate about who's better between Griffiths and McCormack.

There is no way Griffiths is worth the type of money Van Dijk, Wanyama and Forster left us for. He is nowhere near their level of player and because of that no one in the EPL will ever be interested in Griffiths as there are too many flaws and missing attributes in his game to play at that level.

There is a ceiling price in Scotland and that price is £10-15M unless someone truly exceptional comes along and rips apart every team in the CL for us.

5 million is an offensive suggestion . Jelavic went for 5 when rangers where having an all stock must go closing down sale. Hooper went for 5 when his contract was running down. Griff is superior to those two and has the goalscoring record to prove it. 10 mill minumum.

Tables like this should certainly be shown to anyone looking to buy him. Look where he sits in goals scored and if the likes of Kevin gameiro can go for 27million, who I really like, then Griffiths can as well. Considering he has had every bit as good a career and is younger and most recently score loads more goals.

    Of course, certainly not.

But I don't think we should also cave in to the notion that because we are Scottish and play in a * league we must accept * offers.

Honestly think Griffiths is every bit as good as him, and younger. But those sort of offers won't come in I know. But then again milik for 35million? The Dutch league isn't that much better...is it?

Again doubt we would get 20+ for him, but why shouldn't we be looking for those figures? He is worth that and then some to teams who have that sort of money, but obviously the offers would be far lower.

Milik you can make a case for but Leigh Griffiths is not a better striker than Kevin Gameiro.

    Right come on to *:smiley-laughing002:

Is this serious? Gameiro has been scoring goals for years in the top divisions in both France and Spain, as well as winning the Europa League twice.

Griffiths scoring record is fantastic, but that's in the 3rd division in England and the Scottish Premiership.

In what way has Griffiths enjoyed as good a career as Gameiro?

I think we could get £8m or so for Griffiths, max. If I was forced into a valuation. As I said previously in here though he is pretty invaluable to us due to his proven goal record.

As stupid as it sounds I don't think many sides would really go beyond that. He isn't fancy enough or isn't foreign. We will always be looked down upon up here due to the league we play in, always will be like that.

For what it is worth I don't think Griffiths will ever leave here as long as he is scoring and playing regularly.

With Gameiro there isn't much of a comparison, as has been said. He has played for PSG, won the Europa League twice and scored consistently in both Ligue 1 and La Liga. In today's market, he completely justifies that price tag.

Milik, aye, £34m is crazy but he is coming from Ajax, is a Polish international and is drawing obvious comparisons as 'the next Lewandowski' even though I can't see him ever reaching that level. Like it or not, those 3 things add value onto him.

I would think we would get no more than 4-5 million for Griff. But to be honest we would need to spend more than that to get an adequate replacement. The wee man has come on leaps and bounds. Don't think the English would rate him so highly. But * em. Hope he's here for another 3-4 seasons and keeps rattling them.:50:

Well, Pukki will apparently cost Sunderland almost £3 million, Griffiths has to be worth a lot more than that. Do you think Teemu Pukki is as good as Leigh Griffiths?

We don't want to sell him so any interested clubs should be given a very, very high quote for his services. It'll either scare them off or earn the club a ridiculously good fee. Griffiths just had a truly phenomenal season and that league table speaks for itself. :50:

While anymore is playing in scotland they wont be as valuable as someone down south, larsson in scotland would have been worth say £15 million, larsson in england would be 50-60 million.

Hypothetically we should be looking for between 10 and 20 million for Leigh Griffiths if he continues to score and improve.

£5-6m max - the fact he plays in Scitland and scoring goals doesn't add great weight due to the level we are seen to operate in and coupled with fact he's already tried England and no one fancied him greatly when down there would work against any often bigger boys showing interest.

Regardless, I don't see him moving from here until time comes when he isn't selected and at that point he will return to his Hibs club.
