There's a big gap between what I would be willing to sell him for, and what I think he is worth when you factor in the league he plays in and how that affects a players value. Realistically I wouldn't even bother listening to offers under £12m as I think he's every bit as important as Wanyama or VVD to us, perhaps even more so. Players valuation don't usually reflect their ability though, and given that he's an unfashionable player who plays in a very unfashionable league, I would expect teams to start the bidding at about £5m.

Completely hypothetical of course, but imagine that City or Liverpool or another big English side came calling for Griffiths this summer.

I have to assume then he is good enough to attract interest from these teams. Then I look at someone like what Pogba commands and say at least £30million. It is all relative to how you perceive the scenario. This is why I just answered the final question as a standalone

No, but I think they'd pay 5. Anyway, these are selling clubs that buy with a view to selling on. The OP is about selling to an English club. They may well pay more.

If Ross Mcormack is worth 12 then so is Griff.

Thing is, if we qualify, I think Griffiths will do not bad in the CL. I'm basing this on what I know about his attitude and Rodger's management. For instance Rodgers said that the management team provide detailed dossiers on opponents and that some players barely glance at them and others read them religiously. I guarantee Leigh is one of the latter. Things like that probably don't show up in scouting reports. Any English club would have doubts about his ability to score at that level.

But that was one championship teams top scorer being sold to another rival championship team. This is nothing like that. Griffiths has never played and proven himself in the EPL and we're not rivals so the price will never be as high as Mcormack

He has proven himself here and that's all that matters. 40 goals anywhere is not to be scoffed at. 12 million for a 40 goal striker playing for a big club with 5 years on his deal is a fair price.

I guess if we're not wanting to sell it's fair to ask for it, but I wonder where the men in charge would draw the line, if someone offered £8 mil I reckon they'd find it hard to turn down.

    This.

No less than £10m anyway,we shouldn't even entertain some of the more insulting offers we receive from England. They've got the cash - and they regularly spend absurd amounts of it on lesser players than Griffiths.

Whenever the EPL comes calling every club adds 25% on to the fee. Silly season down there. Griff is worth about £9mill I'd say. Be looking for about £12mill off that lot.

I would say about 5.75million would be a fair enough price for him.

What I would listen to if I was selling - £10m+

Realistically given that we sold Hooper to Norwich for just £5-6m I think that is what teams would pay for Griffiths, who, despite all his qualities, is still a gamble to a top league team.

I said 5-7million because that the most we would get offered.....but to try and replace his goals, work rate and his general I give a * attitude. ?...15 million if we went shopping.
