Theres absolutely no way if the situation was to arise that we should consider anything under 10million

    At present £5-7m.

If we make it into the CL and he scores a few at that level, his value would increase to the £7-10m mark.

At this point in time I could only see teams from the English Championship looking at him, as they know he can score at that level and has improved since. Just needs to improve parts of his game to get bigger clubs interested, which he will have to show against better opposition than Hearts, Kilmarnock etc.

Don't think we would sell him for less than around £7-8m though at present.

I'm asking how much you'd take to actually ship him out.

I think we should be able to replace him with £5-7million. Going by our past record with strikers then possibly £12-15million

14 million. I firmly believe if given the right service he could score goals in any league, a goal scorer is a great commodity in today's transfer market so as such we should demand a significant fee

£3 million is very low. Do you really think you could get a striker as good as him for £3 million?

No. But i think it is a fair valuation. I remember it was not all that long ago when poster were expecting >£30million for Kayal and Izzy. Griffiths needs another good season and maybe show a little more in Europe to prove he is worth a 8 figure fee.

Well, he signed a new contract last year and scored a massive amount of goals last season. The likes of Van Dijk, Wanyama, and Forster all went for £10m+ and they had less years on their contract, and they don't play in the striker position which generally commands the highest transfer fees of any position. Prices have also further inflated since we sold those players.

In my opinion we're well within our rights to look for at least £12.5m, up to £15m or even more than that.

Anyone who would actually sell a striker in his mid 20's with the workrate, attitude and goalscoring record of Griffiths for £3 million is * insane.

When you look at the strikers we've blown decent cash on who couldn't score in Bonkers nightclub on a Saturday night it puts into perspective how good he really is.

    £3 million. * *.

If we go by the recent transfers in England then Griff is worth £15m no problem but his value to Celtic playing in Scotland is probably between £8-10million.

Just the asking price now. What do you feel is fair valuation for him in today's market?

This is what I answered. I think if you polled clubs around Europe for what they would be willing to pay for the thumb then I think his mean value would be £3-5million.

An 8-figure fee, maybe; but he's already proved he's worth more than £3 million! Sunderland apparently just agreed a fee of £2.8 million for Pukki FFS.

I think a fair valuation for him is £5m, but he's worth more than that to us so I wouldn't sell him.

It's a tough one to call when you look at the inflated market in England and the fact that Griffiths is a striker. For his value to go any higher, he'd need to perform really well and grab goals against top defenders, probably in the Champions League or the latter stages of the Europa League.

Right now, no one in the Premier League would spend £5m+ for him because he might not be able to score in the Premier League, which would make his value to them £0. Championship clubs might look at him, but they still seem reluctant to spend >£5m for a player that hasn't scored goals in the Championship.

    Here's the original post again, as it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle;

I'm not asking about teams from Germany, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Norway or any other country.

This is a situation where a team from down south has made an inquiry about signing a player who has hit 40 goals for us, who's a regular starter, a vital part of our team, in his mid 20's and who's on a five year contract.

Bear in mind that a Championship club paid more than £10 million for Ross McCormack this summer. That should put things into perspective a wee bit.

He must be happy enough to leave if he's agreed personal terms?

I said £3-5 not £3. I am also giving my opinion on what I think his value would be. Not his worth to us nor his value to EPL clubs. Do you think Anderlecht, PSV, Villarreal etc. would pay £15-20million for Griffiths?

I think what he's worth to us and what another team would pay is very different, I think we'd probably be looking for over £5million yet how much would it cost us to replace his goals and assists with just one player I think over £10million.
