I never heard the boos but there was definitely a marked difference in how he was received.

Tannadice (when we thought it was only the hearts going bust song), singing his name for almost 90 minutes and "he sings what he wants"

Today. No songs in support before during or after he came on or after his goal.

That to me speaks volumes. I wouldn't have booed him today if I was there, doesn't mean I'm happy with him, seems the majority of the away support feel the same.

So there wasn't a huge difference in the reception he got at Tannadice and today?

The majority of match going fans.

Aye, looks like the 'super Leigh' chant has been shelved (even after he scored) and when he came on it was very muted compared to Tannadice.

Heard he told a few guys to * off that were giving him abuse when he was warming up.

Can't confirm if its true or not, but wouldn't surprise me and it'd explain his cupped ear.

Sadly, as someone has already said, if he continues hitting the net the majority of fans will end up forgetting what he did or said (unless he does something similar again, of course).

The nature of the beast i suppose.

I seem to think he has done the cupped ear before,i would guess it more about saying to the murderwell fans...cant hear you singing now.

Well then you don't do it in front of your own fans do you?

When he wanted to get it up the diets he never slid, arms outstretched, towards the Celtic support did he?

95/100 when somebody cups their ear after scoring they do it to the opposition fans. On the odd occasion they may do it to their own fans it is because they feel they have been unjustly criticised for their performance. Leigh knows the lack of support he got from the Celtic fans today has nothing to do with his performances on the pitch.

Showed great instincts for his goal today and done the usual hassling and harrying of the Motherwell defence.

He's made a big impact on nearly every game so far, with an exception of maybe the Scottish Cup tie against Aberdeen which he never started in.

    11 games, 8 starts, 6 goals, 7 assists.

    Excellent.

He really has done well for us... on the field at least. Screw the nut, concentrate on football and he'll be a star.

Don't like him, but so * if he cupped his ear at our fans. Our fans can be right moany * and get on somebody's back endlessly. So even if I don't like Griffiths, I support him doing that. If some fan in (the Celtic end of the) crowd was endlessly having a go at him, I genuinely wouldn't have a problem with Griffiths walking right up to him and giving him the middle finger right in his face. Abuse the guy at the match and he should have every right to reply to you.

Given Lenny's historical tough-talk regarding what would happen to a player if he ever behaved in the manner Griffiths has, then it has to be said that he has really bottled it here! Big time!

I understand that there's a million quid tied up in Griffiths, so sacking him doesn't make a whole lot of business sense, but he should have made it clear that Griffiths would be training with the Reserves to keep his fitness up and would be transfer listed and sold to the highest bidder in the next window.

The Club has sold a bit of its soul on this one!

I don't think that comes down to Lenny, the man really in charge of the ins and outs is Peter Lawell. If anybody shifts Griffiths out the door it'd be Lawell.

Yesterday and his 'celebration' after the goal summed the total moron up. Still can't quite believe that our narcissistic manager saw fit to play him.

So what if he has made a few daft mistakes off field, hes young and im sure we all have made mistakes... I like what he brings to our team on the park and hope hes with us for years to come..

I think alot of our fans have got the magnifying glass out just looking for excuses to give him a hard time now!
