Honest Mistakes Thread 2016/17 onwards.

Club needs to speak up about the standard of officiating. Will be interesting to get to the end of the season and compare our goals chalked off, penalties against & penalties for against what the huns get

 

It was offside.

The most annoying * from the refs is how long it takes them to book opposition players for persistent fouling. * are getting away with 5 or 6 fouls before a booking.

 

He's offside on the initial ball ..the linesman should have his flag up straight away which quells any controversial decision.
The linesman is at fault.

 

By the book aye, but the foul on turnbull wasn't even considered in the build up. The officials are picking what they see and what they don't. If its offside the linesman needs to flag and the ref shouldn't have to go to the monitor to look.

 

Shoe was on the other foot that wouldn’t have even been checked for a certain club

 

Is it not Vars job to assist instead of officiate ? Considering the Ref gave the goal & the Linesman never raised his flag. Perhaps I’m wrong and everything is checked by var but I always thought Var was there to assist.

 

Was offside in the First phase...then the 2nd phase begun and the guy * it up and headed it back when he was back onside.

At what point do you stop and begin a phase?


Regardless of tonights right or wrong....This * needs properly called out now by our board and funds stopped tonight going into that VAR money box until these * refs are properly trained. It took 4 mins for the VAR Ref to ask the Ref on the park to look at it when the VAR ref SHOULD KNOW the decision.

The penalties against our defenders when backs are turned,the Jota through goal etc etc.....IT NEEDS STOPPED TONIGHT.

I dont know what its going to take? To loose this league from 9 points ahead because of these decisions that go against us?

The fans have had enough,VAR has made the games boring as * imo anyways. No wonder CP is quiet when you dont know if a legitimate goal will be allowed nowadays.

That’s the massive problem about it now that refs don’t need to have much of a standard anymore since var does the job for them.

 

That call should have taken a few seconds to make, but they discuss it at length then the ref has to go to the monitor and watch it for about a minute?

Once again, total * embarrassment by the officials. What was the VAR * saying to the ref? 'Struggling to find the rule in this book mate...hold on....nope no that, wait there....nope, hold on I'll go to the index....*, cannot find the rule mate. Just go to the monitor and have a look, I've no got a clue what am doing here'.

Absolute charlatan *.

 

Stuff like this is why we need to be able to hear the refs like they do in rugby, there's no reason an offside decision should ever need nearly five minutes of back and forth discussion, what the * is there to talk about?

 

Actually sick of talking about var after games there's a clear agenda but if the club don't call it out were * Ange said changes at the weekend too many of form can see Jota getting dropped

Should have went to the monitor for the pen appeal in the first half. Offside was open to interpretation and can undertsnad why he gave it.

The booking for Bernebei was ridiculous, as was the decision to award a free kick in the first place for as blatant a dive as you'll see. As usual our players get booked for nothing and we get kicked lumps out of and it takes about 5 fouls for one of their players to be booked. 90% of the time an opposition player throws himself to the ground against us they get a fk as well.

 

'Ali, Ali, please tell me I can chalk it off, erm I mean is there ANY infringement, ANYTHING', 'aye but John I'll find something erm I mean I'll check gimmi 4 minutes'

 

Out of all the contentious decisions, this is the one where I lost my * rag. Disgrace.

 

He's a terrible ref him..

Getting in the way of our attacks. No even looking to play when players are fouled. Just generally quite clueless all round..

 

So you think Turnbull played the ball to him?

If yes, then its offside, if no, then he isn't offside.

 

Is that a rule?

If a player shoots, the keeper parries and a player in an offside position nets the rebound - it’s offside. No deliberate pass played there either.

 

should have been a penalty for the tackle on taylor, did var even look at it, nope.

 

Yes it's not an offence to be in an offside position if you aren't intended target and defender plays ball.

Turnbull for me knocks the ball on defender then plays ball, he isn't interfering with him or challenging or obstructing.
