Holiday Plans 2025

Good call. Last summer I was up in Quebec and enjoyed that. If your in Quebec City you should check out Grosse Ile its a national park on an island in the St Lawrence river a short boat ride from Quebec City and is a really moving tribute to the many Irish who lost their lives there fleeing from the English genocide of An Górta Mór.

 

Saving for a big one next year, but still having a few days away. Liverpool in June for Bruce Springsteen, then end of June Amsterdam for a week for nine inch nails and some mushies, Budapest for a stag in November.

 

A few pictures of my trip last week to Death Valley in California where I and my wife did some hiking with a tour group that do very small group tours.

 

There was a real contrast in the locations. Some times we were hiking in desert like conditions on sand dunes. Other times in valleys surrounded by mountains in the distance and other times on salt flats. At times the elevations we were at were very high so the temperatures at times were even close to freezing such as when we were in the salt flats. The trail the rocks made on the salt flats were as a result of the changing extreme temperatures.

 

That looks brilliant. I’m always interested in those type of places that are just devoid of life. Let’s you see the stark difference of nature in the most brutal way

 

For sure we spent time in some really contrasting environments but all very extreme with very little obvious signs of life.

 

50 days to go up till Cyprus cany wait.

Besides the deadly snakes and scorpions and the like, it would be an amazing experience to camp there.

 

Off walking and climbing the Italian alps start of June for 2 weeks then onto lucca and barga for 2 weeks then onto pisa and then chania for 3 weeks . So a nice easy time for us june n July lolol. Can't wait though.

 

Have to admit the camping not so much for me. The tour company and the 2 guides drove us in and out of each location each day and we stayed in a hotel.

Seriously though stunning pictures mate and must have been a great experience
(although a night under the stars would have improved it … )

 

Actually we did have one night out on the salt flats under the stars. My wife has all the pics of that though.
