I find this really saddening. :54:

    A massive institution HMV.

Unfortunately a consequence of both our * economy and the rise of downloading music and films online, people just don't need CD's or DVD's like they used to and no matter how much they branch out into other areas, there is just so much competition.

They were still selling vouchers yesterday its only now they've stopped I'm sure everybody feels for the workers but they've stolen peoples money by selling vouchers that wouldn't be accepted so these people have just as much of a right to feel aggrieved

I feel the opposite, I think it's just desserts for a chain of rip off * and I'm astounded that in the age of torrents that they've lasted so long. Feel bad for their employees but I doubt many of them were long term or had planned on being long term. £28 for a double CD. * you HMV.

I know someone who was keeping their voucher for the new GTA ps3 game.

These vouchers sold are usually valid for a year. So making comments saying they should have been used isnt right. Dont really know why some people are finding it funny either.

Within the week after Christmas if HMV did not have at least one game, DVD or CD that you like then you must have very limited tastes. HMV's jacket has been on a shaky nail for a while so hoarding vouchers is total madness.

as mel said above i was keeping them for gta and i did get one dvd for a £10 so they weren't completly wasted but the only reason you find it funny is that you had none try ask craigy bhoy if he finds it funny that his £100 vouchers are useless

maybe the shopping centre covered it but i was rather * off that they can't accept my voucher but can pay security which the only reason they hired was because they couldn't accept the vouchers and people would be * off

See when companies like HMV, Jessops etc suddenly shut down what happens to all their stock?

They'll sell it all as a job lot to a competitor - not sure which one in this case.

That fat mess Ashley bought all the jjb stuff when they folded.

They either have huge sales or sell on to other companies depending on where they will make the most money for creditors
