Im not biased i like some of it, some future, young thug etc even if those new * have a good tune i might get into it, but you just know with rappers who cant switch the topic up, same * every song and the worst culprits always talking about buy gucci, as if kids are being suckered in to buy this stuff.
I guess its worked for years in music, but id rather listen to pop music then that cardi b *, at least thats music that means something.

A lot of stuff I listen to is meaningless * though, its a completely different genre nowadays kids are getting into it for the rhythm and it promotes a better life than hiphop used to, that's not including the tattoo face ones we've been seeing recently.

I don’t understand people that are stubborn and pick sides when it comes to eras of rap. I love old school stuff, I loved the 90’s and 00’s growing up and there’s stuff I love now. There’s good stuff out there, it’s just not normally on the radio or the front page of YouTube.

Some people that are criticised nowadays like Migos, Future, 21 Savage, Post Malone, Meek Mill etc, have good songs that I genuinely enjoy. Are they mind blowing like Nas, Biggie, Tupac, Eminem etc have done? No.

People like sixnine, lil pump, xxxtentacion are not good. They are just little attention seekers, who unfortunately have created this culture in rap and have a large following.

But then you’ve got Kendrick Lamar, the T.D.E rappers, Logic, Tyler, Vince Staples, A$AP Rocky, J. Cole, Joey Badass, Chance The Rapper even Drake... guys like that for me are defining this era and are doing a good job of it.

It will always be an acquired taste for some people, others will be into the genres of rap they grew up on and first heard when they were at a certain age, I know people that completely switch music tastes due to the people they are hanging around with and it benefitted them.
But for me I fell in love with hiphop when I heard certain mc's at a young age like nas, and a lot of rappers who are more abstract. Kendrick, Joey Badass and all them are good Rappers in their own right and they bring a lot of variety to rap, great lyricists are defining the era at the moment but it doesn't connect with me like hiphop used to, although Joey Badass actually I'm a big fan of.
For me rap has always hyped me up and I don't blame the youngsters for being into sixnine and rappers like that, theres so many sub genres in rap which is a good thing but, sometimes I'm into lyrics sometimes the tune it depends on my mood but at the moment I'm going through this crazy phase,

Migos do have some good tunes, 90% of their albums is auto tune pish though. Meek Mill I like, he’s in the nick though so no new stuff from him for a while. I’m not a fan of 21 savage, post Malone etc though..
I agree with this though, Kendrick, Joey Badass, J.Cole espececially being 3 of the best about. Jay Rock is underrated far too much as well. Not so much a fan of Ab Soul and Q at the moment though.

    Drake can * off :giggle1:
