Noticed that Public Enemy 'Harder Than You Think' was being used for the Paralympics advert on channel 4.

Was there ever a more authoritative (and just * cool) man in the rap game than Chuck D!?

After listening to Life is Good a couple more times I've decided I * love it, I'm going to stick my neck out here and say I think it's his best since Illmatic.

    Yeah, I totally agree!

Nas has managed to stay an amazing lyricist and storyteller for all these years which is crazy. It feels really heartfelt in songs like Bye Baby.

"You screaming at the racist cops in Miami was probably
The highlight of my life, like "Hiyo look at my wife"
Gangsta, me and twenty cops 'bout to fight, crazy night
Bailed you out, next morning we got clean
Like it never happened and later we at that Heat game
Just another day in the life of two people in love
But it wasn't enough, so baby guess what..."

I think Amy Winehouse was awesome on Cherry Wine.

Only problem is the song Summer on Smash which doesn't fit with the rest of the album. I guess it was made to get radio air play.

Life is Good is outstanding, obviously not as good as Illmatic but up there with It Was Written and Stillmatic definitely, which are two fine albums.

Just picked up an album on the streets in Vegas last week.

Usually when you buy these you think they will be awful but it's actually really good hip-hop music. The guys are just trying to get going.

    They are called the Mercoutbois.

Nas is my favourite artist and I really liked his new album....similar to It Was Written, Stillmatic and *'s Son which I'm a fan of.

As all new commercial "hip-hop" is complete and utter *, can anyone recommend some lesser-known underground artists? UK or US.

Some of my favourite artists who I highly recommend are Nas, Wu-Tang, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique, Diabolic, Eric B & Rakim, Biggie, Big Pun, AZ, N.W.A, Dead Prez, Big L, Army of the Pharaohs, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Copywrite, Saigon, The D.O.C, Gang Starr, KRS One, Tonedeff, Jeru the Damaja, Masta Ace, Some Jay Z, Mobb Deep, R.A the Rugged Man, Organized Konfusion, Pete Rock & CL Smooth....will have forgotten some.

Some UK artists I like are Phi-Life Cypher, Lowkey, Wordsmith, Jehst, Rhyme Asylum, Newham Generals, Foreign Beggars, Some Dizzee Rascal, Devlin, Mic Righteous, Akala, Harry Shotta and Sway.

So from those lists are there any other artists people can think of that I would like, much appreciated.

I would suggest macklemore I've recently got into his music and he is one of the best story tellers I have heard in recent times other suggestions would be Lupe he is fairly mainstream and you have probably heard him but he isn't afraid to talk about hard issues in his rhymes unlike most mainstream artists also black hippy and slaughterhouse black hippy is made up of Kendrick Lamar ab soul jay rock and schoolboy q they all come from la and have very different flows but they are all great lyrically and some how they come together well on records a$ap rocky would be another suggestion

Not yet mate my laptop broke so I've lost all my music and can't download it on my tablet cause the files are to big. I've seen a few interviews dmx recently and he seems away with it I've heard he is smoking crack these days its a real shame to see him waste away
