A really poor performance, but it's clear the midweek game played its part.

I still think Rodgers playing both CCV and Trusty was daft, both were clearly not 100%

We move on, still 10 points clear at minimum with a healthy goal differnce. We're going to have an off day during the season.

Wasn’t surprised at that today . Some of the players looked gassed at 70 mins against bayern . Even if the huns win we’re still 10 points ahead . Didn’t realise hibs won a trophy today ? Hope we hammer them in the cup .

That just shows you how bad the huns are. Hibs were probably choking to get shagged 6-0 as well.

He should have used his last 2 subs. Go 2 up top (hook a midfielder) and try Yang. When we're trailing, it doesn't matter if it's 2-1 or 2-0, you got to go for broke.

Hibs were pish around that time but raised their game against the huns. Doesn't really fit with your narrative here.

    Maybe you're thinking of hearts?

I really think some people need to calm down and take a breathe. If the ball was over the line or not 100% should always be checked, just as they do for contentious goals to know if the ball has crossed the line to award it. So the arguement that shouldn't have been checked... *? I can't comment if the ball was over or not, but that is not my call, but that is what VAR is for, to check for that. If the same goal was awarded against Celtic there would be screams of green murder.

Surely if a ball is over a literal line or not should be as black and white as it gets.

But apart from that, that result was not due to bad officiating.

Celtic had their chances besides that incident, but payed the price for being absolutely horrendous in the first half.

Credit where it is due. Hibs have been undefeated since the beginning of December and now on a historic unbeaten run for that club in ANY division since 1978. They have not lost a game this season when they have scored first at Easter Road, and even when Celtic defeated them back in December - their only loss in the last 16 games now - they had Celtic rattled at times, so it should've come as no surprise to anyone the threat that Hibs posed.

Hibs had a game plan and deserved what they got today. There is no shame or shade in saying that.

Celtic were poor. Leggy and off the pace, especially in the first half. Kasper had to make a string of quality saves to not make the damage any worse. Rodgers has a pretty poor overall record at Easter Road, even during his first stint, that is now P7 W2 D2 L3 at Easter Road for Celtic under BR. He selected the team, he knew the condition of the players was much better than any fan possibly could coming off of that trip to Munich through the week. And yes, he made changes at HT and Celtic were much better after the break, but Hibs by that time were 2-0 up and that cannot be taken away.

This was always going to be a tough game. It was on paper going into it and as it turns out that is exactly what it was.

Hibs NEVER lie down for the Huns... Their fans would never tolerate it, because they * DETEST them... They might fold during the game if behind, but they always go out to win...

The argument isn’t that it shouldn’t have been checked.

It’s that you can’t definitively say the ball is over the line when it only needs to be overhanging.

If they had the technology to overrule it I’d have no complaints, but when the angle they’re using relies on stopping it at the exact frame in which Johnstone made contact with the ball and looking through his foot to determine where the ball is, then it’s bollocks that the on field decision didn’t stand.

We were fried after midweek and Hibs are on a decent run and well up for it, no point going tonto it's just one of those days.
