as an American I can say most Americans (including myself) are relative lightweights. except for people in milwuakee. the birds in milwaukee will outdrink any scot, russian, irishman etc every day of the week and twice on saturday night for good measure. those people are completely inhuman in their alcohol and nicotine intake. consequently, the city is a very fun time.

also, if you want to know about a particular beer for a trip you are taking to the states, it would be helpful to mention where in the states you are going. there are many microbrews that are only regional in nature but are important to know of. for instance, the rocky mts./texas have a beer called fat tire, which is exceptional. chicago has a beer called goose island which is quite good. in the northeast, there's sam adams. in the mid-atlantic and many parts of the south, there's yuengling. and so on..........

Alice Cooper: Well, I'm a regular visitor here, but Milwaukee has certainly had its share of visitors. The French missionaries and explorers began visiting here in the late 16th century.
Pete: Hey, isn't "Milwaukee" an Indian name?
Alice Cooper: Yes, Pete, it is. In fact , it's pronounced "mill-e-wah-que" which is Algonquin for "the good land."
