The question was Hesselink or Sutton hubert.

If you are questioning Sutton's worth to Celtic based on him missing games through injury, surely big Jan comes into the same category.

In fact I'm pretty sure Sutton played more games in his first season with Celtic than Jan has in his.

I have given reasons as to why I say Sutton is overated and stand by those reasons.
I already said if its in the now I would take JVoH over Sutton.
Tic fans have an inordinate habit of overating their players, and usually want them to stay longer at Celtic than they should, just my observation, doesnt make me correct but more than likely I am! :84:

Obviously if the question is about now in the current season, you go for Jan because Sutton is semi-retired at Villa.

He arrived at Celtic nearly 7 years ago now.

If the question is about who was the better player at their peak, Sutton gets the nod purely because Jan hasn't been at the club long enough.

I remember Rab Douglas about three or four games into his time at Celtic I said he was a problem, got blasted for that.
Tam Boyd said even before the Brazil game he played for Scotland he is a problem, well we know he has the distinction of scoring more goals for the opposition than for Celtic, I was told he was a Celtic legend.
Said Booboo Balde was a problem, I am still told he is a legend ffs, how absurd can that be.
Hartson became a carthorse, some had him still a star? Go figure.
Sutton still is a legend yet hardly was available the last two seasons.
Petrov I was told he was world class, * nonsense he often went AWOL during games over the seasons at Celtic.
And I will tell you one right now, and if he does leave he may have a helluva time looking good wherever he goes, and I know I will get raked on this on, the player is our goalie Boruc, he IS overated, good stopper but stiff and will get stiffer wait and see.
We have one player at Celtic right now that is class, that player will get POTY his name is Nakamura! :50:

Hesselinks 2nd today reminded me of the way Sutton played! Losing his marker with runs to the front post and a glancing header in.

Anyone remember his 90th minute cracker against Rangers to give us the win and Clean Sweep that Season! How much I celebrated for that goal!

Don't think so De Boar! Still gives me shivers!

Chris Sutton without a shadow of a doubt!

mate i think ur the one whos been drinking, no one called petrov world class unless they were on eccies, u have an agenda against bobo balde, he was immense his first few seasons, especially on they journey to seville, who cares if hartson is a carthorse he scored over a hundred goals for celtic, and as for boruc been over rated, hes not hes the best sellik goalie since packie bonner, do u forget he has saved us so many times this season, none more so than against man utd home and away, and at the san siro he was outstanding, he has arsenal and ac milan on his trail, that proves his quality. o.k lets put a different slant on it hubert u quick enuff to mention overatted players, do u think there is/were any underrated players at celtic who dont get mentioned?

Its ok you can take Larssons opinion over mine, however a class player isnt an automatic good talker of a game, also players will at times overate their own team-mates, * thats who they are in touch with constantly on and off the park.
Ask me about players I played with and I will sing their praises, its human nature.

Yes he did, remember that great long ball from Sutton, verygood pass, but it took a brilliant player like Larsson to gather that ball aways from the goal and a defender hounding him and he zeroed in on goal looked to his right then slotted it home passed the goalie, remmember that ball Sutton chased before it went over great chase and he crossed it near the post and Larsson squeezed it in with the head how he got it past the goalie I will never know but he did.
Was Sutton good, yes he was, but the brilliance of Henke made Sutton look all the better. :86:

It was a partnership ffs. Look at the goal consistently voted Henke's greatest ever.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XONWAITML4Y

Who holds off Amoruso and sets up Henke to run at Konterman?

Now look at Sutton's chip, my personal favourite of all his goals

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXQokeIiH-c

Who sets up Sutton this time? It works both ways because both were great players.
