Henrik Larsson

As long as we are playing in Scotland I can't see a player of his quality playing in the hoops again. And if it ever did happen he'd be off in a season or 2 for big money.

 

I'm currently reading Alan Stubbs autobiography.
I was surprised to read about Henrik first day at Celtic.

Stubbsy went on to say something along the lines of "We had just lost one arrogant player from Dutch football and replaced him with another cocky arrogant footballer from the Dutch league in Henrik Larsson, but after a while the barriers came down with Henrik and he was a great guy who got to love Glasgow"
I might have the exact wording wrong but I think it was along them lines..

I'm surprised to hear that as I always presumed he was a right humble pleasant man..
Not that it matters a jot or I give a * the man is my biggest hero in football and always will be!

possibly but it wouldn't have the same affect as the league was exiting back then where as now, were in Diddy central spfuck knows what its called.

I mean look at commons season last year, dont see people lining up getting Commons on the back of their top or bringing in new generations of fans.

 

We were still playing the likes of Motherwell, Livingston, Dunfermline and co back then as well.

Commons is in no way comparable to Henrik either, as good as he was last year.

so you do understand that without 'them' no one is interested in Scottish football? Mate take your green glasses off for a wee second and look at the big picture. We have no competition and even if we do end up getting some decent competition, players wont be as interested in Scottish football because it was well known for being one of the best football rivalries in world football. I hate them as much as the next guy but that's what makes the passion in Scottish football.

for the better of Scottish football it would be good if we were like we were in the 2003 and onwards football wise.

if they die, ohh well they're a terribly run club that spends above their means and its biting them in the * ... But the reality is Scottish football history is made up of classic old firm games and the Edinburgh derbys. Is it just a coincidence that our leagues had no sponser for the last couple of seasons? Or that countries like Holland used to have tv rights to watch Scottish football because the famous Celtic vs rangers games and the passion thats involved in the games due to the trible nature of the fixtures. Well they don't have Scottish football showing in Holland or alot of other countries that used to ... Cuz our league is *. Lets face it. No one can deny that since they've been gone the league games made no differance. No teams a couple of points ahead of us that we had to compete against and when we passed them the feeling of exitement .

even if they're back n they're * n we hump them non stop, the passion within the fans will still make that unbelievable atmosphere we crave.

I'm not pro rangers, I'm pro Scottish football.

 

that was clearly a example. 31 goals for an attacking mid field player in larssons team would be a club legend to an extent at this point. I mean look how high we see lubo n he was at the end of his career and was only here for a short period of time. That was my point

 

The difference between Commons and Larsson is that teams like Man utd and Barcelona were interested in him when he was the same age as Commons and even a few years older than that. Commons could probably play in a lower end PL team at best regularly. Larsson was a class above Commons.

 

I only really have one hun mate and even he will admit he has never seen and probably will never see a better player than Larsson ply his trade in Scotland

1. Yes i have 'green specs' because i am a Celtic fan.
2. There is competition. We have drawn and lost so far already this season domestically. Fannies like you moan about no competition yet moan when we get gubbed. Make your mind up.
3. Holland used to have rights to SPL because your favourite dead club had half the * country in their team/dugout ya fud.
4. If you can't get a hard-on without blue things i suggest seeing your doctor.
5. If they are 'back' and we hump them non-stop it will be just another game and a '* league' with no competition after the first couple of seasons.
6. Stop greetin'.
7. You are very much pro-Rangers. You could have said you wanted Utd or Aberdeen to be able to compete with us. But naw. You want Sooper Sally and his bigots back.

Also - How was Scottish football 'better' in 2003? Clubs were in 100's of millions of debt (30 million ourselves and 50 million for your fave dead club) trying to keep up with the EPL.
How on earth only Rangers have died out of the top tier teams is a miracle.

 

funny how you never mentioned the history of hate between fans that builds an unbelievable atmosphere when we play eachother. You also didn't mention anything about the current financial demise in Scottish football. We get pathetic tv deals (last minute) , we have had no league sponser for the last 2 seasons and our league gets laughed at from snobby glory hunting English fans and bitter journalists with agendas. Our league is a laughing stock, lets be honest, were gonna win the league this season. People like you (if your gonna get personal, so am I) think because Ronny has had a couple of bad games, were *. We still have a couple of signings we haven't seen yet. For all you know, his philosophy might actually work and our team plays a great season. Its still early

you also ignored the fact I said I wouldn't exactly be devastated if they died agai. We are Celtic and we'll prosper regardless.

bottom line is your narrow mindset is not letting you see the big picture. Its not all about us as Celtic fans, anywhere you go in tthe world wearing your Celtic top people always joke "ohh rangers haha" because its a history of one of the best rivalries in the world and our hate for them (which u clearly have, as do I) it makes more sense for us in a Scottish league with the 2 most interesting derbies in tact. Even if it takes 10 years.

its for the better of Scottish football. Dont know about you but I'm sick of our league being a laughing stock and players like VVD taking hissy fits because they cant leave our great club. Back in the good old days, players like petrov served their time and even re-signed so that our great club that made him the player he his, would get our club some decent money for him instead of going on a free. Now we have a signing policy were our main way to attract players is to tell them its a stepping stone into the EPL.
