    • Genuinely World-Class
    • Best player in Scotland for the last 50 years
    • Champions League winner
    • Over 100 international caps
    • European Golden Boot winner
He might not have the makings of a top manager but if our attacking players can't learn anything from Larsson as a coach then they're not paying enough attention.

    Bring the King home!

Bringing back Neil Lennon. Our former Captain, youth coach, manager, the man who stared death in the face to bring us success didn't appease the support so I'm not sure how Henrik Larsson could appease anyone.

Unless you are all * goldfish whose brains can only compute so little of the past.

Honestly. If bringing back a successful former player - who has absolutely no managerial success to speak of - would make people calm down over the appointment of Neil Lennon, a man who led us to league titles, CL, last 16 then you are all * dumber than I thought.

    Not sure on this.

Like Lennon, sentimental values tell me go for it. The heart is in it.

The head, not so much. His past records show he maybe isn't right for this aspect of football...then again perhaps management is just not his thing but coaching could be better suited.

Had we brought in a manager I was more happy with, then bringing in Larsson I wouldn't bat an eye lid at (negatively). But we didn't, and this now seems a bit too much like trying to swing a few fans on board after the backlash.

We didn't go through a proper process of hiring a manager, I doubt we are going to interview and evaluate coaches either now.

Would be class for the strikers to learn off. His movement and finishing is second to none. Can only be a good thing imo.
Don’t see how his legacy would be wasted, as a coach he won’t exactly be in the firing line for criticism.

No. Absolutely love the guy, but he's done nothing in management or coaching to make me think he will improve us. We shouldn't be bringing in people (even Henke) merely for sentimental reasons.

As a coach, I don't see how he could ruin his reputation here.

It's just whether or not he is actually good at being a coach it come in.

I'd rather spend money on an established, well versed, coach than spend money on someone because of his name to the club.

No doubt he has done his badges etc and must know something, along with his vast playing experience.
But has he managed to put it all together to actually be a good coach?

Your taking the view of didn’t do anything with lower league Swedish teams who had no budget or ambitions. They clearly hired Henrik as a big name and to put bums on seats and specifically with Helsingborgs. They even took Jordan on to enhance the profile and of course a bit of romanticism. You could certainly argue this would be the case with us but I don’t think so. Henrik would be joining a well established SPL management team who have been over the course and will work together. From what I know, albeit not a lot, Henrik was pulling the strings at those teams. That’s not how we operate and I think by getting a few very successful teammates who know and trust each other will work in our favour going for the ten. It would lift the whole club with Henrik back and you could be in for a good combination of good cop and bad cop. It’s what Lenny needs by his side, a trusted lieutenant.

He was at clubs where it would be hard not to improve them and had he done so he'd have certainly have moved on to better quality teams and been in demand as a manager. That hasn't happend for him. Now it could be he'd make a better coach than manager, but to be brutally honest we shouldn't be the team to test that theory out. We should be getting tactically sound, experienced coaches in, not getting the old band back together for nostalgias sake.

Aye that certainly worked for David Moyes after an outstanding stint with Preston and a pretty good solid career at Everton. Ferguson’s choice of replacement and failed. Ole gunner took Cluj on the biggest hedonistic European campaign they may well never see again and after a brilliant start with Utd he doesn’t look too hot. Jose, Wenger and Bilic all top managers but had their failings after success. So the point is success doesn’t always further success but failure is a big lesson.

Failure is only a big lesson if you actually learn from it. Has there been any noticeable improvement in his managerial peformance over the years?

He would make a fantastic forward coach better forwards than what we have currently have spoke about what they learnt training with the king. I wouldn't have him as purely a first team coach though have him work with the forwards at every age group aswell.
