    Hiring a manager based on their playing career for your club is lunacy. It’s been proven before at other clubs.

    Could pretty much only fail in Europe, any semi-competent manager would walk the league with our budget vs the rest of the league. People sleg Ronny, but he won it by 17 and 15 points his 2 seasons in charge. Henrik would at least match that. It'd be a Zidane/Madrid scenario- really not that great a coach, but his reputation and love from the fans gives other an inferiority complex.

    Not sure about that Zidane has won 2/2 CL titles.. reputation only takes you so far, especially in that competition.

    I understand good players don't always make good manager's but never under estimate pulling power either.

    For example Deila probably struggled with signing players due to a relatively low key profile.

    Everyone in Europe knows who Henrik Larsson is. Christ even the wife knows who Henrik Larsson is. That could really help in signing players. The rest rest comes down to coaching and tactics I guess. Is he good in that department? Still to be proven I guess

    Kennydal that used to post on here, saw Jinky in the flesh quite a lot. I rememver him saying at one point that C.Ronaldo couldn't lace Jinky's boots. Obviously a biased opinion, but that's how highly he was rated.

    Jinky came 3rd in Ballon d'or in 1967 too, but he should have won.
