Apologies if this has been done or should be in a different but i was just thinking today by the time i was properly old enough to appreciate football and players the whole world already knew how good larsson was so id just like to hear from a few slightly older heads at what point did you realise he was special and was going to be the legend he is?

    Probably September/October 1999.

He scored a great volley to give us a late win at Dens, and then a week later he scored a very neat finish against Hearts that you see the best strikers knock home. Then a hattrick against Aberdeen.

Up until this point I actually liked Lubo more. Then realised what Henke was all about.

Not sure when, but I remember the leg brake in October 99 and knew right then how much we would miss him.
Remember the rest of that season any hun mates tried to laugh at us and say we were a one man team, even they knew how good he was and lucky he was injured.

When he returned against Dundee United and scored at the end of the same season, I'm sure he went on to be our 2nd top goal scorer or something stupid. He was just always on fire, then of course the following season was his golden ball year.

The leg break season was hard to take, so I would say that moment if I had to. But to witness the following season and then the rest of his career was magic. Truely loved and appreciated him from then on.

I remember my Dad bringing me back from BB's in the car and telling me we had signed a Swedish guy from Feyenoord who was supposed to be good. I think after his first season you saw he had quite a bit of ability and he just kept improving.

Knew he was good, but was concerned him coming back after the break, that game up at Tannadice start of that season he just looked so much better

He had a decent first season then kicked on scoring more goals the next year but in a poorer team. I remember crapping it when he broke the leg in France so it must have been before then that i realised how vital he was to us. Think we all wondered what player would come back and he was, arguably, even better. Kicked on even more under MON whose masterstroke was Sutton as a foil. They were telepathic...honestly they were brilliant to watch.

He was probably still at his peak when he left us imo. Not just a striker but a genuine all-rounder who put in a right shift. What a player and a genius on the park!!

Larsson came in as a good player (howler of a debut aside), then came back an unbelievable, utterly-world class player after his horrific leg break.

Still can't believe we had this guy for as long as we did; nowadays, he'd have been off to the EPL/Championship after a season.

Total hero of mine-we were lucky to have him in our time and in his prime.I enjoy telling the kids about him and they go onto youtube/google etc and watch all the goals with jaws dropped.
Heard so many stories about jinky and king Kenny who were before my time but to see him in the flesh, listening on the radio to the tight games and out of no where LARSSSSONNNNN`S DONE IT AGAIN; when he chipped Klos, the two goals in the eufa cup final (diving header in the euros albeit no for us)....... Knew he was special early doors but when die hard huns would say at work on a Monday "hate to admit it but that dread locked wee * is something else- he`ll be away in the summer"
