The King should convince big Zlatan to come up to Glasgow. Him and Griffiths would do some damage :icon_mrgreen:

Can you imagine Zlatan here? Scoring fifty goals, but the fans turning on him 'cause he doesn't hold the ball up well or whatever. :smiley-laughing002:

Zlatan loves Celtic. But he has a bigger ego than the collective ego of the club, unlike Humble Henrik. I was however lucky enough to see Zlatan play a couple of weeks ago in the French league cup final when I was visiting family in Paris. What really impressed me about Zlatan wasn't his attacking play, but his defensive instincts, how he was able to track back and carry his team to victory despite being down to ten men. Proof that true talent can perform in any position.

Would have loved Henrik to have one more winners medal and that would be the UEFA cup medal he so richly deserved instead of being cheated by those diving * of Porto.

I wonder what that would be in today's market!
Using the Bank of England inflation calculator, that would be just over £1 million (1, 067,000) in today's money. Still an incredible bargain!

Nevertheless, we all know that football transfer fees have inflated far more than prices in the general economy. Here is a page that purports to give true, time-adjusted fees for players.

    https://tomkinstimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/TPIC-2013-PROPER-V2.jpg

I don't know how accurate it is and anyway it's for the English market (which is even more ridiculously inflated than other European markets) but maybe it can give a ball park figure.

So according to this, Les Ferdinand went to Spurs for £6 million the same year we signed Larsson and that £6 million would have been £22 million in the 2012/13 season! By that reckoning Larsson's £650,000 would have been £2.34 million in 2013/14, at least in the English market.

Still an astonishing bit of business! :notworthy

Cannot even bear to think about Henrik, it makes me distraught to think I'll never see a player of his ilk gracing a Celtic shirt again...........not in my lifetime anyway!

I was 14 when he signed. What a time to have a legend emerge at our club!

Then the tears at that Utd game, and the farewell fiesta v Seville. There literally are no words for what this man means to us.

You see in the above video, he talks about not only developing as a player when he joined our club, but improving himself as a human being. How rare a man he was, let alone a footballer. Absolute gent and one of the greatest to ever play the game. I think I would've loved him no matter who he played for, just glad I had the good fortune to see him for many years in the Hoops. :celt_2:

I'm just proud to have been a young guy growing up and having someone of his stature play for my Club.

I think a lot of people on this Forum are in the same boat. He makes me want to greet just by hearing his name being mentioned.

I'll never have that attachment to a player again in my life..

Used to hear grown men regularly in the pub's saying they'd let Henrik * there wives, and mean it:56:

Can you imagine any of us or older boy's greeting over a player leaving now? Bet there wasn't one tim straight faced when hearing and watching him welling up after his final game..

I don't watch his videos and stuff anymore as it's too much of a sombre feeling..

I'll never see another great like that at Celtic in my life, I know it..
