It was between 40 and 50 grand he was getting which was one of the highest paid wages in world football at the time. I'm sure he also got over £1m payoff at the end of his contract. Worth every penny.

Thought it was £40k at the most? Worth every penny though!

I heard £40k per week, I'm doubtful that was one of the highest wages in world football though.

not sure if anyone read this, but pretty despicable stuff. Football fans and twitte are a bad combination:

    http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport...rdan_backed_by_Helsingborgs_after_vile_abuse/

HENRIK LARSSON'S club Helsingborgs have condemned the "hatred, intimidation and harrassment" of the Celtic legend's son Jordan after he offered his support to the Parkhead side on social media.

Jordan Larsson has made his mark this season at the team his Parkhead legend father manages. The 18-year-old was brought up in Glasgow where his dad netted 242 goals.

Larsson junior tweeted his support for Celtic after they raced into a two-goal lead against Helsingborgs' bitter rivals Malmo in the Champions League. He said: "I get goosebumps just by watching television. Great to see Celtic dominate on and off the pitch."

But that prompted a barrage of abuse from Malmo fans and his club got involved when a tweet compared him to his "dead junkie uncle" – a reference to Henrik Larsson's brother Robert, who dies of drug addiction in 2009.

Helsingborgs director David Brodetsky stated: "Helsingborgs strongly reject all forms of hatred, intimidation and harassment. It is regrettable that individuals in our society can not accept differences, human dignity and the right of everyone to an opinion.

"That it then also done anonymously is a worrying social phenomenon and it should be taken very seriously.

"When abusive foul language has been posted to our young player, we need to show this is unacceptable."

Aye bud I read that last week shocking.
If he was on the reputed 50k he was on. outwith ronaldo, zedane ect one of the highest paid by a club excluding sponsorship deals which dwarfed their wages.
Plus mind his big payoff when leaving bumped that up.

He definitely was on between £40k-£50k. And t that time he would have been in the top 10 higher paid in the world. Zidane was on £80k at the time but Spain have good taxes. Sol Campbell the highest at £100k then in England it was Roy keane on £50k.

Every so often I look back at Larsson videos on youtube & I feel sad because at that time in the O'Neil days could I ever have imagined how bad it would be at this point just makes you realise how good we had it back then compared to now where the teams disgusts me I wish I could go back in time to the Larsson days.

It was a cracking side, not doubt about that. There was a very genuine belief, almost an expectation, that we could beat any side in the world at Celtic Park.

Some twitter account is linking him with a move here, in some capacity. Even though he's still managing Helsingborg, which means it's obviously bs.

Would love us to bring him or someone like Lubo or Naka in to work with our players.

it really upsets me that we dont have the uefa cup or even quarter final/semi final champions league run to show for his time here. when Ive said before that as great as the O'neil er was theirs this feeling of "what if" this is what I mean.

larsson deserved the uefa cup so * much

Supposedly when his Helsingborg contract runs out he could be coming to Celtic as some form of a Coach. I wonder if it's to coach our youths but can see it being as a coach for our Strikers

Not a chance he's coming to Celtic as a Coach or any other capacity other than the top job.

His shadow would destroy any Manager, never mind Deila.

Exactly what I thought plus his contracts not out until 2017 I think honestly I don't ever see him coming back to us in any role.
